Whats the disease when i cant sleep

insomnia

my roomate has it and its annoying when im trying to go to bed at 12ish and she doesnt fall asleep till 3
 
I remember about my jr year of high school i would never put my head to a pillow til about 11pm, because i never needed as much sleep. I got up at 730 in the morning and going to bed at 11 or 12 got me a solid 7-8 hours of sleep. You're just getting older and need less sleep. Just wait til college man, i sleep like 6 hours a night when i have class in the morning and now that there is skiing i will prob never get more than 6 hours of sleep a night. Now if you're staying up all night cause you cant sleep or take hours to go to sleep every night you could have insomnia or anxiety.
 
I did it all through jr and sr year of high school, getting up at 8 every morning and going to bed at like 12 every night for like 6 months straight in the winter, skiing at least 2 times a week. I was def active enough to need rest silly sheldon.
 
first off dude insomnia is getting little to no sleep. when you get 6 hours of sleep, you are not an insomniac.

Insomnia is a chronic inability to sleep.

skiing 2 times a week doesnt meen you were active enough, i used to be able to go to bed at around 12- 1 every night last year. now i switched schools and ski or workout almost every day and i could never pull that off.
 
I am pretty sure that I have the transient insomnia. For the past two weeks I will go to bed around 12 and not be able to fall asleep til 3:30-4. Then I feel like hell in the morning. Thank heavens I am taking my last final in about 45 minutes and there will be no school stress til the end of january...
 
why do people brag when they think they have cool diseases with cool names. just annoys me. HEY LOOK EVERYBODY, I"M SO COOL, I HAVE INSOMIA (sp?) YAY!! maybe i can get cool pills to go along with it and brag to all my friends. maybe its anxiety! maybe i can get a therapist and brag to my friends on how emo i am!!! yay!!!
 
Yeah but you had it made not waking up until 7:30 during your jr. year. I'm already well in my 1st period class by then.

For me, I need tons of sleep. I usually go to bed at around 10-10:30 and wake up at 6.
 
i actually kinda agree, i have ocd but im not a pussy about it...cause i think everyone has it a little. so i just dont do anything about it.

my dad has that sleep apnia shit the kid was talking about tho, its hella gay he snores all the fuckin time.
 
yeah i have it a little, mostly with counting my steps. like if im in a place with tile floors i will count every tile. or in my mall for example i have to skip one tile per step. so every 3 tiles i only hit 2...its gay

and to the OP...that's definitely not insomnia. that's just you getting more mature, and since you aren't growing as much, you don't need as much rest. i used to have to go to bed at like 10 last year cause i was so tired. now it's always around 12ish cause that's when i get tired.
 
its not insomnia it the fact that most people cant fall asleep that early. 12 is a normal time to go to sleep
 
12 is super early. Wait until you hit college, and you're sitting in your dorm, and all of a sudden you look at your clock, and it's 5 in the morning. And then you sleep until 4 the next day and skip your classes because you're lazy as fuck... that's what's up. You have no disease, disorder or anything of the sort.

when i was super depressed i would just not sleep all night go like 36-40 hrs. then just kinda pass out for like 10 hours, kinda like not-sleeping binges; hella ghey

or you may not need much sleep

i go to bed at like 12-1 and get up at 4:00 every day and i feel rested enuff
 
word, there was a time last year when i was so stressed out that i only got about 2hrs of sleep every night for about two months. i smoked at 4:20am every night before i'd go to bed and wake up without an alarm before 7am consistently. serrrously, i had a 4:20am burn sesh for 5 weeks straight, not a single day missed. when that kinda shit's happenin, then you can complain. tonight's an exception, but i'm usually passed the fuck out by now... 21's feelin oooooolllllddd and tired :S
 
insomnia is the inability to experience restful sleep. it occurs when you can't really get into the REM phase of sleep, or if you do, can't stay there. going to bed late just means you're a headcase.
 
uh i don't think you have a disease on school nights i go to bed before 12 usually but like tonight i will be up till 2 posting and get up and thrash the gnar
