Are y’all bitches fucking serious selling pivots for this high of pricing? You got shitheads like 2bi4forever or whatever running up snowshare selling clapped out dinosaur looking pivot 14s for 280 bucks? And plenty of sales like it. Y’all fucking serious? And y’all BUY it? Every pair of pivots I’ve ever bought, brand new or used, 150 and under and thats it. 3-4 years ago I bought my first piv12s for 150 for brand new. Now they’re selling for 250 on here and snowshare???

bought og orange FKS 180s for $110, and FKS 140s for $80 all within the past year and a half. Can’t believe people will charge more for “rare” colors, treating these shits like pokemon cards or some shit. And y’all will buy it which is even worse???

shoutout to the misinformed buyers out there aka kids running around with daddy’s money running up the market and inflating our beloved pivots lol. Y’all ROCK

I’m aware of normal inflation but damn if anything I’m buying my pivots for same/lower price and they’re lightly used

Sorry OP, I can't hear you over all these orange bindings I've purchased

1030102.jpegI'm guilty of paying a lil' extra for some orange FKS bindings because when I was growing up, I was too poor to afford 'em... I would look at the guys in their OG Saga kits with their orange FKS bindings and reflective goggles in envy.

Now that I can afford cool things, I'm willing to pay an extra $50 or whatever for that piece of nostalgia.

Yo, let me cop a pair of 110s of those orange joints plz❤️❤️

People have been paying out the ass for them for zero reasons. You can get new ones for the price people are paying for used. Its not like they are hard to find at all.

Bought brand new forza 15’s on corbetts for 236$ at the beginning of the year. B4 you ask the sale isn’t happening anymore

insane deal

Got a pair of attack 13, 100 bucks they do their job just fine if you don't hit 60ft jumps and land sketchy switch, everything else is just marketing.

I rode up in the gondi with two older dudes in their 50's maybe 60's who both have pivots. One was a mougal ripper and the other I think just had them because he probably heard good things. Kind of only assumed park skiers used em

That’s cool go find an attack thread to post in

Getting colored pivots is honestly a waste at this point. It cost like 300$ when u can get the same affect on black pivots for wayyy cheaper

pivots are the exact same prices they've been for the past few years (depending on time of year). you're going to have to find another way to shove inflation into this conversation somehow

It's literally what the OP is complaining about but go off.

dumb skiers paying crazy prices for gear whose retail prices haven't changed has "literally" nothing to do with inflation. you are "literally" one of the tubes that the internet is constructed from

I'm hoarding pivots like bitcoin, it's called diversifying your funds idiot maybe you should try it. On another note if anyone needs some forzas im selling them for $400 a piece (I own 40 pairs of 15s in my basement)

OP, i too share frustration and confusion over pivot prices, but, several friends are looking to get into park skiing, and for them, the difference of 100$ from new 15/18’s to some used ones is their budget for some clapped skis.

Should individuals selling their beat pivots be giving better deals? Yes, but given the opportunity to make more money, would you sell your bindings for 80$ less than someone would happily pay?

TBH, snow share kinda sucks for good deals. 90-95% of posts are barely under retail which kinda defeats the purpose of the acct.

Sell your used gear for cheap. Think about how much fun you got out of it and take that as your profit. Hook up whoever is buying your shit.

Inflation has effected the used market of EVERYTHING man.

okay, explain to me how inflation has affected the price of used pivots, a product whose retail prices haven't changed at all recently (besides their typical seasonal changes), and have had no supply/inventory issues

The dollar was worth 20% more 5 years ago than it is today.

Also their raw materials have absolutely increased in price. Everyone's has. Unless they're producing their own raw stock (they're not). Steel and polymers are incredibly more expensive than they were even 2 years ago. Up like 200%. Why hasn't msrp changed? Idk. I don't even care. They could leave that the same but charge more at wholesale. They could be selling old stock while they can prior to raising the price. And there's been a huge influx of skiers since the pandemic. Do you seriously not understand how these things effect price or what?

If any company today hasn't raised their prices it's because they're eating the margin. This is 101 stuff

none of that explains why people would be buying used products for stupid prices

the retail prices have not changed and there is definitely no shortage of them. you ask me if i "seriously don't understand how these things affect prices" but the actual retail prices....haven't changed

dumb people have always bought shit for dumb prices, that's nothing new. you're eager to make this inflation's fault and it's just not. lots of things suffer from inflation! this case, braindead skiers buying stupid shit, just doesn't happen to be one of them

In the last week I’ve posted about 5 sets of pivots under $200 and some under 150. What people often forget about with snowshare is that the best deals get scooped up quick and the post is deleted so you never see it. Also this means that’s the worst deals stay on the story all 24 hours cause no one cops. There is def an element of luck to getting the great prices.

Ok, here's an example. The retailer doesn't want to eat the cost of wholesale - so instead of the usual '15% off msrp!' Discount they offer 10%. People look at pivot 15s 'at a discount' for 400 bucks so they think a clapped used pair is worth 250. Last time I got 15's they were 217, last time I got 18's they were 180. Both new. Idk if you'll find that again I don't think you will. Also are you sure retail hasn't changed? 475 for 15s? Jesus christ that's insane.

right but i googled (and google it often) and i still see the retail prices ive seen for years-- 12s for like 200-280, 15s and 18s for 400 retail (wherever you saw 475 is a joke), sometimes less (and then they all get varying discounts during the offseason). and no shortages. so i don't think that should affect the used market on a large scale

what i can't prove of course is how it plays out in the shop world of "retail" and supposed "discount" prices. i'm sure you're right that in some cases yeah, some dummy sees a supposed discount and it's still ludicrous and that affects their perception of a good used price

but online it's all the exact same typical retail prices. and this particular thread is about something that i think is less about inflation and more along the lines of the stupid kids on here who think they can resell their setup for like 15% off retail. and sometimes there are other stupid people around to go for it...

Aye don’t hate on my boy 2biFour

It’s just frustrating seeing him post shit for so high when snowshare is meant to be a deal page not a money-grab page. I know people who have slid up and said hey man why so high? And his reasoning is “well this is for kids who can’t afford retail pivots”. Doesn’t make much sense, cause I’m “those kids” I just deal hunt until I find the right price. Also annoys me when prices on certain pairs are bumped just cause they’re white or orange or whatever. I think it runs the market up because (understandably) people no longer want to sell theirs for the low when they see shit like this happening. Dan is completely right there’s some absolute damn steals and we don’t all see them but it’s becoming way less common

Well if it helps your perspective, we're up about 50% in pivot sales this winter already and are running out of availability for the rest of the season.

Nope. That has nothing to do with it.

As well as they're big investment in marketing the last two years, has absolutely zero to do with it...

Doubling back around to say I feel like I saw a retail price increase when they made them exclusively Look again. I think having FKS and Pivots was causing a bit of competition and lowering of prices. But that’s based off purely my own observation

I too am guilty of hoarding pivots. But they for me and I ain’t sellin.

honestly I cop a few a year …. Can’t trust the supply chain these days

With a 10-20% shop/industry code you can get that new new in the freshest colors for less than some of these used ones online —— imma b rockin my gold/silver/forzas for a minute now

A small factor to add maybe... Everyone wants cast setups for touring as well so muthafukas out here be coppin em from all sides of the market.

How much has your wholesale costs gone up in the last three years?

Actually not much, but it always depends on how much volume you order as brands give volume discounts on orders

yeah and what about the dudes trying to buy my old vishnus that are full or core shots and literally falling apart that shit is weird too

I now regularly see Jerry's with p15's. Feel like this is new with how many i'm seeing.

Should be cheap and minty on craigslist/KSL in a year or two when they sell their setup for the next hot ski

Used to be that kid to lol, legit said “any condition” bought wets and they are fun but I don’t know why kids are paying 200+ for skis with 2 mounts and a shit ton of edge missing. If they were any other ski you’d pay 25-75 max

Pivots are the new hype beast binding especially the silver/gold/forza 15s. Literally half the binding I see on the mountain now are those and a quarter are regular black pivots lmao. Most people are overpaying for the hype and can’t ski/really don’t need the din or pivots specifically

yo this is facts and idk why this got so many downvotes and the homie is getting hate. Sure some of the pivots he sells are a little overpriced but dudes a fucking homie. He just buys used pivots mostly for fun online checking everyday for cool ones from around his era passing them to the next stoked homie. He’s a super nice guy and was almost a pro back in 09-10 on the east. I recently bought a pair of pivot 18s off him for 180$, not the best shape but they’re metal pivots that are bomb proof. Bindings work great and the springs aren’t fucked up. Homie deserves no hate, if you don’t want his bindings for near his price don’t buy them.
