What's the deal with THE SKI TOUR????

Rumor has it that The Ski Tour is going to be back this year and better

than last year. I’m not sure, but that’s what I’ve heard from some of

my friends that live in Sun Valley. Does anyone have any information on

it. What have you guys heard? I thought it was a cool event last year,

hopefully they keep it real. I’d also like to know how you can qualify?

I checked the web site and it has not been updated. From what i’ve

heard they are calling it something different because it’s evolving

into a year round event. i saw on the site this summer they were

putting on a bike and music fest but it got cancelled due to a forest

fire. Like to know what he deal is??? can anyone fill me in???

snowboarding, that'd be cool. integrated events. i'd be sick to have dumont and colby west throwing down with wyatt caldwell and danny kass.

I've heard there's only going to be two stopes of The Ski Tour. Also heard skiing got added to the Dew Tour. Dunno if this is correct or not, so someone should verify.
 
i heard there were going to be 2 stops this year, search and bar.

with a possibility of Squaw and Sun Valley along the way.
 
Dec 15 @ telluride is the first stop... and they added women's skiing, skiercross anyways... HAH.
 
I hear that, from the pics a saw on freeskier those parties looked insane . sign me up. I wonder what the band line up is?
 
The Dew Tour could be realllly good for skiing. Huge sponsorship money involved. I too heard the Ski Tour was supposed to be a big deal this year. Pretty exciting.
 
I heard that the first stop is in PC mid December and there is going to be five stops alternating between SX and Pipe....but then again Dexter Reuticki nots there so who the fuck cares....
 
Why the fuck would they alternate skiercross and pipe? Not like those athletes compete in the same events. Hopefully NOT true.
 
YEP, The first stop is in Telluride 15-16. It's skiercross. The first pipe event is jan 11-13 skier pipe and snowboard pipe. The biggest event is suppose to be March 14-16 in sun valley. I heard they were also going to try and have some side events like building 35 foot quarterpipe or backcountry booter jam sess. I think that would be sick. any thoughts??
 
if they actually have a chinese downhill, that would be so badass. i haven't heard of a sanctioned chinese downhill since some NZ Freeride comp hosted one like 6 or 7 years ago
 
The Telluride event is skier and boarder cross only, NOT pipe.  The pipe and cross events are no longer tied together except for the final in Sun Valley March 13-16.

There will be two ski tour halfpipe events- the Sun Valley final and another one in Park City Jan 11-13.  They will have men and women, skiers and boarders.

The main reason they are running more skier/boarder cross events this year is because they bought the "Jeep King of the Moutain Tour" which already had multiple cross events established.
 
good. I was wondering why the first tour stop was at Telluride, since it is just SX then it makes sense since the FIS pipe event is at Park City about the same time.
 
Well, so much for mackin on pipe skiers then.. damn, going to have to wait til sun valley.. I just booked my flight today for telluride, vancouver-denver for 310$ Canadian roundtrip! Wheeee excited.
 
the ski tour has teamed up with jeep this year and the tour still has 4 stops, sun valley being the grand finale this year. check jeep.com out (jeep king of the mountain)
 
it should be good this year, considering the founders of the ski tour are from sun valley, so it should be even more insane their than last year.
