#4 you said vote because your life depends on it. Well if you say anything against trump his supporters will legit try to attack you.

Please provide facts and not opinions.

I was quoting a common phrase repeated by democrats regarding this election.

The articles you posted had more opinion than fact so.. start there I guess

I'm guessing you missed the leaked audio from multiple high up republicans saying they're certain Trump is in Russia's pocket and to keep it within the "family".

I'm guessing you missed the part where the only bank who continues to loan to Trump is also heavily involved in money laundering for the Russian mafia.

BUT I'M SURE ITS ALL A BIG COINCIDENCE!!!

Trump uses that bank because he can’t get a loan from ANY US based bank. I personally don’t think he was a good businessman and his credit history in the US shows that.

Edit: ...”he” couldn’t get a loan, not “you” couldn’t get a loan.

Yup, that's a bunch of bullshit. Go ahead and provide sources for these claims, bud. I'll wait.

“That portion of Trump’s commentary was true. Pictures of children behind chain-link fencing were captured at a site in McAllen, Texas, that had been converted from a warehouse to an immigrant-detention facility in 2014. Social media users who defended Trump’s immigration policies also shared a 2014 photograph of Obama’s Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson, touring a facility in Nogales, Arizona, in 2014, in which the fencing could be seen surrounding migrants there as well. That picture was taken during a spike in the number of unaccompanied children fleeing violence in Central American countries.”
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-build-cages-immigrants/

“The FY2018 death rate in ICE immigration detention was 2.3 per 100,000 detainees, a 39 percent drop relative to the rate for FY2017. That’s good news, but the improvement in FY2018 follows on a deterioration in FY2017 from FY2016. In FY2017, the death rate per 100,000 detainees increased by 31 percent relative to FY2016. In other words, the chance of dying in detention rose in FY2017 – but the death rate began to rise in FY2015 from a low point of 1.4 per 100,000 in FY2014 in an uninterrupted trend. The largest percentage increases during this time was a 60 percent jump from FY2014 to FY2015. The Trump Administration inherited an ICE detention system where the death rate was rising, presided over a year when the death rate continued to rise, and then saw it fall by 32 percent in FY2018.”

Sources for what? I was telling dude his random articles filled with opinions about trumps alleged war on gay people, his personal roll in pulling the trigger on illegals, and being complicit in spooky russian bounties were silly.

You're just on your normal muh russia/rachel madow conspiracy nonsense so I'm not sure what you want from me.. My extent in engaging you is limited to making fun of your crippling TDS where trump lives in your head rent free.

Migrant kids were dying in US custody throughout the Obama presidency.

Going to have to ask for a source on that first sentence...I know of at least 8 who died under Trump...I haven't seen any reliable source giving any sort of number under Obama.

I'm not going to deny that he had kids behind chain link fences HOWEVER it's a little more nuanced in which kids were put into them.

Trump had (he later revoked it after severe backlash, even from Melania) a zero tolerance policy for immigrants, meaning any and all kids were separated from their parents. Obama limited it to situations where a child's safety was at risk OR their parents had criminal records.

Is that acceptable? Not really, but it's quite different than any and every kid being put into these facilities.

The difference between criticisms leveled at the Trump administration and the Obama administration are due to Trump making immigration a focal point for his presidential term. He brought the spotlight on how immigrants were and still are being treated. Any sane person will acknowledge Obama was a pretty shitty POTUS when it came to immigrant rights. However, by making it a mainstay in his campaign and later presidency, Trump can only blame himself for the negative press.

Is it a double standard? You betcha.

But it's a self-inflicted wound.

I think we also need to recognize something when looking at immigration numbers. We've got ZERO idea, for any presidency, of the type of people coming into this country. I don't think anyone, Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Green Party, etc. would be upset if violent criminals were turned away at the border. I'd like to think we'd all welcome people who could contribute positively to society.

The issue is, we know under Trump that ICE is indiscriminate with whom they send back. Trump is not going to win over many people if he sends back a family that's on the run from a drug war, and that's a lot of what the media is focusing on.

I may have misspoke on the “kids” dying portion, though I’ll keep digging, the the fact remains that trend in deaths was hiked up the entire second term of the Obama administration and through the first year of the Trump presidency (that articles state that could be a spill over for the years before) that that deaths began to fall again by 2018.

Grammar is terrible on this post, I apologize.

Questions why do trump supporters think non trump supporters cant stop thinking about him? Why do they think non supporters watch cnn or MSNBC?

Also since when are facts and evidence silly? Is that the best you can do to discredit reliable information?

Yeah man, every time I’m out protesting, I get attacked left and right by trumpies. It’s amazing how all these peaceful protests turn into riots and looting because we just get attacked by trump supporters

Because it's true. There's never been an individual in the history of the earth that has gotten more free press than President Trump. The things that the press gets all worked up about is hilarious. Two scoops of ice cream, BREAKING NEWS! He sipped water funny, BREAKING NEWS! He misspelled a tweet at some odd hour of the morning, BREAKING NEWS!

Literally any time I post on a thread here regarding current events or politics I get attacked for watching fox news when I haven't had cable in my household in almost a decade.

Just look at this thread. It's a thread about the threat of protesters and militia and it's devolved into Trump bashing and "my links are better because its the generally accepted truth among my peers so I won't bother going deeper than that."

People would rather post links as some sort of gotcha tactic rather than talk about the specific substance and why they have the opinions or ideas they have. People do that because it's easy and low effort. There's no risk in taking a stance behind a link. Posting links with no substance is the EZpass of conversation. You just throw it out there and drive on by.

"psssh, I did my part. I showed him the facks.. stupid person doesn't even know what I know."

Some people like myself literally CRAVE good conversation and civilized debate. It's why I frequent at least a dozen forums and message boards every single day.

skierman however, he's proven time and again that he isn't interested in any of that so yeah, I don't feel bad making fun of the kooky conspiracy theories he shares a belief in with rachel maddow.

Some rhetorical questions for the next time you post a source because this thread is ridiculously off topic and my amusement in entertaining these topics has waned considerably.. Would you be willing to explain in specific terms what makes you think any article, author, journalist, or publisher is reliable and bias free? Would you be willing to discuss in specific terms where they got their information? Would you be willing to discuss in specific terms the credibility of their sources? If not, why bring any of it up?

He wasnt part of this conversation until you brought him up, then you said all those thing you think people think of him. I agree drop him out of this discussion because he wasnt part of the conversation until you made it one.

No, you dont, you lying sack of shit.

if you liked civilized debate you wouldnt hate me with a passion.

i dont win arguments against you bc im good at winning arguments. I win arguments because i have a habit of not defending anything unless its exceedingly logical and reasonable.

its a trait you dont see in stupid people like you; you clowns defend the logical equivalent of low ground and then go crying to your mommy and daddy and the mods when i destroy you from the logical high ground.

the truth will always have an advantage when it comes to arguments. Thats why you and your shitclown associates hate me.

Wait what? I have great discussions with people on here all the time. You are just mad cuz I clown on you sometimes. It's all fun man. We had some good talks about skateboards and wheels.

To make a point with this post tho...people who think that people disagree with you hate you are the exact same people that make it seem like our country is entirely divided.

If you are taking stuff on a ski forum that seriously, you probably get outside more.
