Whats the best resort in the DC area?

well, the closest mountain with the best park is liberty. its about an hour away up 270. whitetail is ok too. wisp is in western MD and its ok, but in the same time you could go to 7springs, in PA which usually has a nice park. Boulder, also in PA, probably has the best park in the mid atlantic, but its like 5 or so hours away.

depends on what part of DC. I make it to big boulder in 2 hours and DC in 2 hours, baltimore in one hour. 4 hours tops. I would check out whitetail and wisp since they are in the 2-3 hour range of you.

If you gotta go close, I'd say Liberty but that's not that great. Stay away from Roundtop tho, They hype parks but they don't produce. Springs would be my bet or wisp and hit Boulder when possible.

yeah, i go to 7springs and whitetail, but never been to liberty or roundtop. I heard whitetail got a new park manager, so we'll see what he can cook up

Yeah dude whitetail picked up a new park manager and he seems legit because he came on here asking for suggestions and he seemed really stoked to make improvements. Also, whitetail got a new park lift this season. But for the most part the past couple seasons i have liked libertys park better. Hit me up with a pm sometime because i have a season pass to lib, whitetail, and roundtop so maybe we can shred this winter.

Liberty has been the best for park in the past few years if you're looking for the 2 hour range. In the past few years they've done a good job at taking care of their parks and maintaining them.
Whitetail's park in the past hasn't been the best, but like they all said, Whitetail got a new park manager so hopefully it'll improve this year and in years to come, and they are putting in a new lift for the park which will be really nice. It's also really close.
Liberty and Whitetail are the closest. Traffic on 495 flies if you catch it at the right time of day. I think I've hit 85 on the beltway and 270 and I was even with traffic/getting passed here and there, just look out for cops and crazy drivers if the traffic is going that fast. You can also get slow days too though, it depends on the time of day and day of week, I think timing for us has ranged from 1 hour and 15 min to 3 hours.

Springs is pretty sick, I'm on the VA side, and its about 4 hours from my place, but the parks are better than liberty/whitetail.
Massanutten has had a legit park when I have gone there, but I haven't been in a few years. Its about 2 hours from DC.
Snowshoe is about 4 hours I think from the Va side of DC, and its pretty legit. The parks last year could have used some work, but they were still pretty good at times. They needed to work some on maintaining the jumps, they'd get divits and uneven patches on a lot of the lips which can throw you off, For example, I would go off a jump once and there would be a divit that I would catch an edge on, so the next time I'd go off to the side of it and the jump was lopsided so It'd pop u up a lot more than the other side, or I couldn't get enough air to clear it. But its easy to adjust to it.

i heard that snowshoe got some huge dump this week, around 30 inches. its been nice and cold here, and we even got some snow downtown yesterday, which was sweet

It takes me a solid 4 to get to boulder, but is always well worth it. About 3.5 to springs. I have skied at liberty and whitetail the last two years since I moved here and am more unimpressed each time I go. Anyways, I am going to either boulder or springs on saturday if anyone wants to ride along. PM me

Yea man it looked like it was goin to be pretty sick this weekend, even though they only have 6 runs open.
I'm tryin to go on the 6-7 and am going to be down there a lot this winter. Let me know if anyone wants to hit it up.
