Yup, simple question... I want to know which events were the best in your area!

Not just which was the coolest/most money, but which events had a great vibe, and were overall fun as hell to attend!

 
I thought young guns was sweet because they tried so hard for us, the only problem was that they couldnt hold the organization sid eof it together, and it focused way to much on finding the GREAT Young gun, which was the point of the comp, but definitely felt a little too much like american idol. It would have helped to if the judges werent paying attention and not insulting half the kids.

The grouse jams of old were fun for me just because it was such a trek out there. The elan rail jam was fun because there was such a good turn out and everyone new each other.

The whistler sprite series is definitely the worst comp series i have every seen.

I think i remember going to some other comp too, but Its slipping my mind.

 
Lord of the Park was really well organized, had a good turn-out, had a good vibe, and was really fun.
 
WSI is fun to be around and shit. Like the big air has a dope vibe to it and I liked watching the halfpipe cause I was in the VIP area
 
LORD OF THE PARKS Manning Park, Huge features and a resort that is unknown.

A designer and event organizer that does this for skiers that want an event that is competitor friendly and a location that isn't on the charts as an every day super park.

K just checkin. Oh and I heard that if salomon sponsors the lord of the park next year it's gonna be called the Gigger Open....is this fact or fiction?
 
wsi, despite the shitty slope course this year, is always a fun time and really good vibe.. and with the wssf going down that week too it makes for an epic event.. probably the best week of the year.
 
since this thread is all about manning anyways.....

rumor has it that manning's getting new lifts soon (next year i think), and i know for sure that the uber crowded ski school/lift ticket window/rental shop/repair shop is being changed. the ski school is getting it's own building, and we're getting a new building just for lift tickets...... more of an update next week once i know more.
 
as promised, an update..... ok, well, it's not much of an update, but it'll have to do.

the replacement of the lifts are part of a 3 year plan to pretty much renew the entire ski hill. tons of summer grooming is taking place right now to ensure that the hill can open with less snow in case of a bad year and to widen the runs as well. this means that creeks are being diverted/filled in and brush is being cleared from the runs in preparation for ski season. oh, and opening day will be november 25th, provided of course that there is enough snow.

that's it i believe, if i hear more i'll post it.

oh, and this information is from two VERY reliable sources. these are no longer rumors, they are facts.
 
i was wrong.

i can't believe i forgot this, actually.

kinda makes me think i'm an idiot.

the orange (longer) chair will be replaced first, and will "definitely" be a quad. the blue chair (shorter one with the park on it) will be replaced second, and will most likely be a quad.
