Whats the best/cheapest way to make astroturf slick? (Already tried soap)

I am trying to make a summer jib setup but when i tried it out the astroturf was not slick at all. after that i tried dishsoap and water and it was still not very slick at all. is there anything else to try?
 
you can get the orange fencing at home depot but its like $40 a roll.
i found some in a dumpster at a construction site so you could try that too
 
orange fencing works like a charm ;)
im lucky to live next to a house being built and they left half a roll in the dumpster so i just snatched it
 
old carpet works well for takeoffs..not so much for drop ins.. but it has some edge hold, closer to snow feeling than the orange fence..but nothing to catch on..its the best with dishsoap and water.. orange fence is your best bet for a drop in.
 
Use your hose and get it completely soaked. It works perfectly. Just make it so that the turf is dripping wet and there are small puddles on it, and it slides very well. And it's totally free.

Ask for invite to build a jib. Last summer we tried a lot of different things including animal birthing lube, AKA bovine butt lube. There are plenty of edits where turf is used successfully, but I never figured it out. There are different varieties of construction fence and some don't slide for shit. I suggest this stuff sold at Lowes or Home Depot for your drop in. It is pretty much fool proof.

It's great for drop in, but tough to grip on for spins onto rails, so for the actual jump, you want to use orange construction fence. Not as fast as the lattice, but you can grip better on it.

Otherwise you can wait a little until Luke and Adam have their new back yard jib product out.

if your drop in is just one big sheet of wood that might be why the more your skis are touching a surface the more friction there is less friction = going faster, thats why you see drop ins with just pvc or just 2x4's with carpet on them
 
pictures will defiantly help. there are a lot of little things you could be doing wrong. like too steep of a transition, or if your skiing on plywood, not separated 2x4's that will slow you down.
 
that is actually a really good idea!!!!! i wanna make a new drop in using like a pvc pipe every half foot so u can walk up the front but u can also slide in the front... props to u sir
 
This! And you don't have to worry about getting grass stains on your tall ts because it kills all your grass.
 
If there is an ice rink by your house than get the snow from there, but otherwise powdered detergent works the best
