What's the best all-mountain beginner ski for women?

So I was thinking the Line Masterminds but I'm not sure if I should just rent skis for my first season or buy them because it seems almost cheaper to buy skis now instead of renting them for the full season. My size is 147 and I am looking for just an all-mountain ski that I can take to the park but also try some powder on.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Look into some salomons, they're light and easy to ski. Also next time try the gear talk forum, people are Nazis about posting in the right place.

unless you're extremely new to skiing I wouldn't recommend buying a beginner ski. If you progress much you'll grow out of it and be looking for a better pair mid season. in my opinion it's better to buy a good ski that'll last you for a while. my gf (novice-intermediate skiier) loves her armada arw's.

First of all... how tall are you? Second... how long have you been skiing for? where do you ski? are you comfortable with speed, crud/pow, etc...
Without knowing those things, I would suggest you look into the Line Celebrity. It's a great all mountain ski, it comes short and is light and is an easy ski to ride all over the mountain.http://lineskis.com/skis/celebrity

To jump back in this in a more positive manner, I also suggest the Celeb. My fiance has been on it for 2 years and it's become her equivalent of my ON3P Jeronimos for her. She rides them just about every day in every condition and loves it.

For your first season skiing, definitely invest in a good pair of boots first. I would argue that this is your most important piece of equipment. Plus it's chosen more on your foot shape + weight + flexibility more so than your skier type. So as you progress with your skiing, a properly fit boot will progress with you way more so than a pair of skis.

But to actually answer your question... check out the Atomic Supreme this fall, or K2 Missconduct, or Line Mastermind, Armada Cantika... that will be a good starting point for you. Easy skis to learn on but really solid skis to progress with.

this. i skied half this season with shitty boots and then changed them halfway in the season and the difference was bigger than i ever could have imagined it to be.
