What's Open?

I really want to go skiing this weekend, but Killington is ridiculously expensive and Sunday River is too far for a day trip. Is anything else open? Is anything going to be open soon? How about next weekend?

okemo was suppose to open tomorrow....but they bailed =/

they didn't say when they're aiming to open by, but they are probably shootin for next weekend. i would imagine they want to try and get some thanksgiving weekend business
 
its $50 and for 7 trails, id say a its expensive. Its early season so you cant complain but i wouldn't say its not expensive
 
the Mountains know the "die hard skiers" will pay pretty much any price to ski asap. There goes rent and food money.
 
Damnit, I want to go skiing so bad. Anyone know if anything is open this weekend? Other than Killington and Sunday River that is...
 
Sunday River will be the only place open tomorrow and Saturday.

There is snow in the forecast for VT, possibly heavy accumulations, but with ZERO base on the lower mountain, I don't see Killington opening until Sunday when they can build a base on the trails.
 
bad news... just checked the killington website and they said they aren't opening tomorrow (sunday). this is ridiculous
 
Far from ridiculous.

10" was at the peak. The area at the K-1 base got maybe 2-3" at best, and it was on-top of unfrozen, saturated ground (known as mud).

There is no form of base for the bottom of the mountain and temps won't allow snowmaking until Monday night-Tuesday.
 
I have tomorrow and wednesday off if anyone wants to hike this snow in northern VT. I was thinking MRG but Jay is also an option.
 
yea i hit it up sunday. it was pretty sick but the park sucked there like usual. 1 short box 2 short pvc rails and 2 short rusty metal rails
 
Killington will be reopening tomorrow at 9am.

I am skeptical for Thursday and Friday though as the weather forecast is calling for close to an inch of rain with temps in the mid-upper 40s on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
 
Okemo- Sat and Sun with 1 lappable trail

Mt. Snow- making snow starting friday night, opening Sun

Killington- making snow friday night and hopefully into saturday, open Fri, Sat, Sun

Stratton- possibly open Sun, might bail

idk where to go, okemo is 1 hr 45, killy is 2 hrs, snow is 20 mins, stratton is 35 mins
 
Okemo had a few rails/boxes today and the three trails that were open were towards the top of the mountain. The trails were very icy and barely covered with moguls (sorta more like "piles" actually) along the edges. Overall, however, I had a great time and I'm glad I went.
