What's on your mind - Ladies edition

Yesterday we got some of the basics of tandem skiing down, but John still has to call out the left/right/spin commands to me until we figure out a backpack speaker to do the moves to. Im thinking "I feel it coming" by The Wknd. Like the Superbowl last year, one of our first dates.

The red chair at skibowl after 7 pm has the best conditions for us to practice. We almost got the tandem quadruple left spin (!), but hung up our massive twin tips in the last 180 degrees and had to separate.

Today trying to clean up the tandem skiing for steeper slopes at Tline (ultimate goal is to be able to do like 100 spin moves from top of Palmer to bottom of Summit) and maybe try a couple of those figure 8 western swing moves at Skibowl. John is a very talented dancer, but I still have trouble fully giving my skis to him to lead.

No funny hat, but we've got some solid matching outfits, as usual - cheetah print underneath and candy blue top and bottom shells. Just like the French Olympic team!

We got a bud and bud lite from hoodlum mart (only $3.65 for 2 tall boys) and spun around for an hour hollering "Hell Yeah!" with those though. That's what Budman is probably up to today. John rode a chairlift with him at Copper Dewtour and was dazzled by his creativity and skill

Is there video of this happening? gotta see this!

Sad to see how quiet lady gabber has gotten. I'll contributehttps://www.instagram.com/tv/Cbnhz3mlnks/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link I'm currently pretty proud that I've gotten way more consistent with rails this season. I'm giving full credit of my progression to using Pam (canola oil spray) on the rails so that I no longer live in fear of getting grabbed by a mysteriously sticky rail and slamming hard.

That is awesome!!

I'm feeling the same way too, with only a couple days left in the season and I feel like I'm finally getting some progress. After an mild stupid injury in January, and finally coming to terms that the skis I love are too long and stiff for park use in a small park in a small resort. With less stiff lighter skis that are still too long for me and newer stiffer boots and Footbeds. I'm getting somewhere again After a couple years of pretty stagnant status. I slid my first real rail last weekend! It was a baby short fat tube but I'm counting it! Slowly breaking down that mental block at the end of the stinkin season! Its like I'm finally getting warmed up here! Next season I'll have more appropriately sized skis and will pick up where I left off.

I'm so stoked for you! I also got some smaller skis for this season and it's really helping for skiing the smaller parks. What skis are you gonna get? I'm really liking my revolt 95's in a 157 size, they are doing especially well in the spring slush, being short and kinda fat they don't get bogged down as easy. Getting stiffer more responsive boots is such a game changer.

This may not apply to you, but part of what helped me gain confidence in the park was quitting caffeine this year. I used to look at a tube or a cliff drop and feel like I was having a panic attack thinking about hitting it, I would get the shakes. I now realize it was all the caffeine I was drinking was making me feel that way. Since I quit I feel way more calm and focused in the park.

Oh crazy you mentioned the caffeine!! I discovered this a couple weeks ago,( I was doing some research on anxiety reduction in sports and this came up!) hence maybe why I finally was able to work up the confidence to get on the tube. And just plain old frustration/irritation being tired of not being able to get my body to do what my mind wants to do. Music also has helped too. I never listened to music while skiing before and just having good tunes helped me get into that zone.

I haven't fully quit drinking my morning coffee but reduced to about 1/3 of what I used to drink. I notice less anxiety in general and less wicked PMS symptoms. And also less random underarm sweat. lol.

I outta try Decaf on my last couple ski days to just see.....

Another wierd thing I noticed is PMS week is a tough time to try new tricks/things in general. So I've learned not to expect anything spectacular during that time period.

For new shorter less stiff skis I'm planning on getting the newly announced 171 Vishnu wets. I avoided them for forever thinking they'd be too soft for me, but I kept forgetting that people that say that are much heavier and taller than me males . So at 135 and 5ft 3 they're probably a good fit. Maybe the Keys, if I can find out if they're more on the softer side? But I'm not interested in their width though for midwest ice coast conditions. My big heavy On3Ps are pretty much going to be my out west skis whenever I go back, and lately i have been on Vishnu Wet + . They're softer than the On3P but still pretty stiff for me

Decaf still has caffeine in it I found out. If you've been drinking a lot of coffee/energy drinks it's definitely better to taper off. You'll realize really quickly how bad your addiction is if you quit cold turkey. I stumbled upon similar reports about anxiety and other bad effects on youtube and it was enough to make me just want to quit cold. That first week was brutal though, so if you have to still be productive in your normal life I would definitely not suggest a hard stop. I sleep way better now though without it, as well as the less anxiety and I have more vivid dreams.

I really feel you on "tired of not being able to get my body to do what my mind wants to do." Since I quit it's like a switch flipped and now I can do the things I want. That sucks about your PMS, I'm on seasonale so I only get my period once every 3 months, it's not often enough for me to notice or remember if PMS is effecting my skiing.

I could probably cut back more/again because I'd been at that reduced amount for probably a couple weeks now.

I love seeing that switch flipped experience you have! I'm hoping for the same experience. And better sleep! I have no troubles with my sleep so I'm good there. And I'm pretty jealous of your less frequent periods, PMS only like twice in the whole ski season!

Ski boys are the reason i don't talk to anyone. U open ur mouth and "Stfu u cant even kfed"

I don't know what's wrong with skier guys. I've had this conversation before, snowboard guys are way more chill. I find myself hanging out with them frequently, while I only ever rarely encounter a nice park skier guy. Snowboard dudes are handing out beers on the chairlift, bringing good vibes, cheering random people on in the park. Meanwhile the park skiers are too busy being full of themselves to notice anyone else, unless it's to shit on them. And then they come to NS and whine that they can't find a park skier chick.

Skier boys r whores. Cant find a good one that’s actually sweet ugh

Someone ( [tag=252678]@vibecheck[/tag] ?) made a thread "Who is the nicest guy on NS?"

Once we reached a consensus, I slid into his DMs and eventually moved in with him.

10/10 strategy. My heart is overflowing lol.

I think I'm turning the tide on the lube your own rails. Last year I'd get people asking me what I was spraying on the rails, now this year I'm getting kids shouting thankyou and asking me to spray other rails. Now if only park crew at woodward would figure it out and spray their own rails instead of occasionally putting skate wax on their seriously rusted jibs. The number of times I see some poor fool get hooked and tossed on one of their sticky rails is really damn high, especially snowboarders trying to 50-50 just get grabbed from the front and forced into a somersault. I used to see complaints on instagram but people have stopped I think because they know it does no good. I only spray the rails I intend on riding so most of them stay death traps for the unsuspecting.

Freshly waxed arm pits is a feeling like no other. The smooth yet irritated skin just does it for me ???

OMG you guys the season starts tomorrow! Solitude is opening and possibly Brighton, rumors are mixed. About time though, we have more early season snow than I have ever seen since moving here. I'm so excited!

There's a blizzard warning in ND and upper NW MN.

We have a wicked cold front coming tomorrow night. Snowguns are firing up on Friday. Skiing in a few days afterwards! Winter is here.

Epilator, pros and cons:

+ easy to use

+ cheap

+ results last long

+you can use it at home

- HOURTS LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER

and yet, again and again, i find myself using this medieval torture device week after week.

Women stand tf up why is this thread so dead

anyways it’s time to grow up as a woman and stop doing slut strands. Your hair freezes, gets messy and looks funny after 10 minutes. And then you start bending that frozen hair and it breaks.

Slut strands look cute for sure, but I've always been too much of a tomboy to bother with my hair much. I also don't really mind being mistaken for a guy. When I overhear someone saying "that dude shreds" it kinda makes me stoked more than getting complimented "as a girl".

I’ll use an epilator for my legs because I don’t think it hurts than much. But for denser areas of hair like arm pits and hooha, FUCK THAT. Definitely prefer to wax that shit.

I just broke with my boyfriend of 3 years. We care about each other so much and it's so amazing to have such a close relationship with someone so special, but long distance just isn't for us. We are both super bummed, any advice on how to move forward. Definitely not super stoked rn

I have been there for sure... It's super hard...

Just try to take your time resetting yourself, and learning to do all the things that you would even semi-rely on them for by yourself. Force yourself out of your comfort zone. Go on a super lonely solo trip somewhere new. Hang out with friends who arent mutuals with both of you... Just get away from it for a bit and see how you go.

And if it doesn't work and you guys decide you need to be with each other at the end of it all, then fuck it... move to where they are.

I love how the only times people care about Woman's sports is when they can use them to push their own agendas

The Ahmet Dadali thread comes to mind, those fucking mouth breathers

Been a month, do you feel any better now with some time and skiing?

Guys what happens if you give someone head while you have a tonsil infection? Please let me know I'm feeling very concerned

Depends on what the bacterium is that’s causing the infection. It probably won’t spread to the other person but you can’t know for certain. There are types of gonorrhea that can infect the throat that could be spread this way.

Also when your body is fighting off an infection or you’re on antibiotics, the “good” bacteria in your body(mouth/throat) can be disrupted. So it could be harder to fight off the types of bacteria the antibiotics don’t kill. I say all this to say that you have a slightly higher chance of getting a new type of bacterial infection because even clean penises are germy af.

Both of these scenarios are unlikely. You’ll probably just have more inflammation/swelling/pain. But fuck it. You go girl

I intentionally waited till I was no longer a teenager to watch Thirteen so I just saw it for the first time and sssshhhittt......I want to force my trap era friends to watch it but they are all in abusive relationships rn.... coincidence? I think not

Has anyone here injured their Pec or Intercostal muscles .... I'm going on five or six years of interment reinjury and pain. My PT (my mom) has me on a whole regiment but I'm still uncomfortable. My chest weight really cranks on it but taking heavy duty bras on and off hurts and flares it up....any ideas appreciated
