I'm considering buying a super short, flexi, dedicated spring slush ski. Probably the volkl revolt 95 in a size 157. I mainly want it to ride the tiny woodward pc spring park, or for doing flat ground tricks and slow speed laps because the lift lines are long, or hike jib laps. I haven't ridden anything that short since I learned to ski, so I'm having trouble pulling the trigger (even though I'm 157cm tall) it just seems so short, my smallest ski currently is a 164 stiff full camber pipe ski (atomic punx 7). Tell me why I shouldn't add a tiny fat park ski to my quiver.

It feels like ski season. I'm sitting in the living room with skis laid out and a tape measure agonizing over where to mount my new park skis. I re-watched that stomp it tutorials about where to mount and I'm stuck between mounting volkl revolts at -2 or -3. I think jems is right, it doesn't make sense to mount true center on a directional ski. The revolt is a twin, but it has more rocker in the tip than tail and it's not a symmetrical sidecut. I dunno why the recommend is at exactly true center. Even my atomic punx, which actually are symmetrical have a line for mounting at -2 (which is where I like it). The center of your foot is not where the human body carries weight. If you stand with your knees bent (like in ski boots) your weight will be biased towards your toes. Just how much so is the real gamble though, as everyone has different anatomy and I'm sure foot length plays a role as well. -3 sounds good cause the skis are more asymmetrical than the punx, but they're also shorter skis, so maybe I won't feel like I have enough tail, so maybe -2 is right after all. Bleh, I just gotta pick something.

If you guys don't already know about the knee's over toes guy on youtube and instagram you need to follow this guy. I've been watching a ton of PT videos on youtube, mostly to rehab my shoulder cause I mildly tore my rotator cuff in a crash in early spring. Like most skiers I also have some knee pain occasionally (thankfully no serious tears or anything). Anyways I stumbled across this guy and I've been doing some of his exercises this past week and they've made a world of difference for my knee. He was told he'd never have full function of his knees, and now he has crazy strong and flexible knees with zero pain despite multiple surgeries and ligament tears. https://www.youtube.com/c/TheKneesovertoesguy/featured

Katrina, if you are skiing the smaller parks in PCMR HMU. Three kings is too much for me, but I like pick axe and little kings.
We definitely have enough snow to be opening some of the resorts but I think most places are hard set on their opening date (which for most places is still a month away). Brighton might open early but I think it will still be another couple weeks. It's kind of sad to see all that snow in the mountains and not have any lifts spinning.
I think I made my boyfriend mad tonight. First he seemed off. He was shutting down my compliments a bit. At one point he said he loved me and I said I loved him too and he said ohhhh do you? (Over text but I thought he meant that playfully) and I said duh!! But then he said “don’t duh me” Usually he uses a silly emoji when he’s kidding, and he didn’t. I could be overthinking that or misreading that -I’m not the greatest over text. After that I gave him a couple compliments and he kind of shut them down and he seemed annoyed. I said sorry and that it seemed like I said something that upset him. He responded with umm what? Like he had no idea what I was talking about. I’m pretty sure he fell asleep or put his phone away for the night. It’s making me anxious. I hope he’s not mad. I hope I didn’t take things the wrong way.

I'm crashing a ladies park snowboard event tomorrow because it's my only chance to ride park with other ladies. I am bringing my girlfriend who snowboards and I'm hoping that will give me enough cred to join the group. I don't know why these events can't be more inclusive.

I totally did this like 3 years ago. I did ask prior to the event though and they were cool with it. I was the only skier ? there. I bug them every year about doing this again and also about having an adult freestyle program of some sort. They have all this stuff for the kids but nothing for the grown ups!

80inches of snow predicted in the mountains for the next week. The holidays are already an epic shit show at the mountains, I can't imagine this monster storm causing anything but mass chaos and very little people actual being able to get to the mountains and ski. Good for the people that live slope side I suppose.

I don't know what the bus situation is like. The storm has delivered less than advertised and most of it has sort of trickled in during the day, so nothing overwhelming. Wind combined with staff shortages due to covid outbreaks has meant delayed openings just as bad as if there was too much snow though. I'm hiding out at woodward all this week till the vacationers go home, even if it means missing out on powder.

Since I can't seem to find any ladies my age to go into the park I'm just training up new skiers. For some reason I can't get people that have been skiing for years to go into the park, but ladies that have never skied in their lives are like "the park looks fun!" Not complaining though, at least I'm getting some ladies in the park finally!

Bought an at home IPL laser hair removal device. Recommended by a friend who works in a medi-spa. It's not exactly as "good" as the lasers they have but its the same technology intended for home use. Only $200 and doesn't hurt(it's warm when you click the button but no pain). It takes about 4-12 weeks to see results and like all laser it's not permanent but I'm excited to give it a try. I mean, even if it only does 50% of what a real laser treatment would, thats still pretty cheap and worth it as opposed to spending 1200-1500 for it. So I'm excited to try!

For Valentines Day we are going to spend the weekend reviving pair ski ballet. Gonna try some of Budman and Budlite's moves.

Yesterday we got some of the basics of tandem skiing down, but John still has to call out the left/right/spin commands to me until we figure out a backpack speaker to do the moves to. Im thinking "I feel it coming" by The Wknd. Like the Superbowl last year, one of our first dates.
The red chair at skibowl after 7 pm has the best conditions for us to practice. We almost got the tandem quadruple left spin (!), but hung up our massive twin tips in the last 180 degrees and had to separate.
Today trying to clean up the tandem skiing for steeper slopes at Tline (ultimate goal is to be able to do like 100 spin moves from top of Palmer to bottom of Summit) and maybe try a couple of those figure 8 western swing moves at Skibowl. John is a very talented dancer, but I still have trouble fully giving my skis to him to lead.
No funny hat, but we've got some solid matching outfits, as usual - cheetah print underneath and candy blue top and bottom shells. Just like the French Olympic team!
We got a bud and bud lite from hoodlum mart (only $3.65 for 2 tall boys) and spun around for an hour hollering "Hell Yeah!" with those though. That's what Budman is probably up to today. John rode a chairlift with him at Copper Dewtour and was dazzled by his creativity and skill
