I was told to drink a shit ton of water before this ultra sound and I have to pee soooooo bad

omg is it a pelvic ultrasound? I needed to pee so bad I had to get a friend to drive me there and every bump in the road was agony. I ended up asking the nurse if there was anyway to get me in sooner as I was almost crying haha

Well shit...should I be looking at a smaller frame? I went to a shop and they said a 48cm should be fine for my size.

hahaha worst! I had the creepiest guy too. And I had to get him to stop half way through after he'd done the bladder stuff to pee then came back and did the internal stuff. (Which btw my doctor did not warn me it was internal so that was a rude shock to top it off) haha Hope everything is all good!

Just have to make a major all lady shout out after an instance I had tonight:

Never let a man tell you what you are capable of. If you feel like you are being disrespected you are capable of standing up for yourself. Don't let someone else tell you only a man can stand up for you.

I made my stand tonight. I hope you can, too.

Yeah the lady who did mine was like "okay so now for the internal probe" and takes it out and it's like 14 inches long hahahahaha I was like wut. Waiting to hear the results.. So we'll see! Hope you're okay too!

I don't have a road bike so feel free to ignore everything I'm about say, but if road bikes are anything like mountain bikes the sizing and size chart can be very misleading. The bike size measurement is usually referring to your seat tube length. You'd think it would be distance from the saddle to the bars or maybe pedals to the bars, but nope, it's the seat tube (yeah the thing that holds the most adjustable part on any bike), wtf. This video talks about some of the weirdness of bike geometry and measurements and why they are all not really that useful:

What you really care about is "reach" but not every manufacturers lists it, and it's not always standardized in how it's measured when it is. On the upside you can change the reach of any bike dramatically by swapping out stems. Stems on road bikes are several inches long so you can potentially gain tons of reach even if the bike is initially too large.

Lastly I'm 5'2 and I've found medium and small bikes fit me best with some small bikes feeling waay too cramped, and x small being out of the question. You really just have to try before you buy, since there is very little standardization. I would error on the side of larger rather than smaller due to being able to throw a smaller stem on there if necessary.

Ahhh this was really really helpful! Thanks girl! I think i'd rather snag a larger frame if i can just adjust the stem if necessary. I've been looking at extra small road bikes and now i feel like that's too small...

Thank you for your input!

break em' out at first chair fest and we'll raise some hell

Biked a few miles to a park to catch the sunset and then laid on the grass and it started sprinkling. Then biked back in a downpour and found cover under a tree. Then got beers and laughed for a few hours. So pumped on tonight.

I fell off my mountain bike and tore up my elbow. It was really dusty in the open sections and I lost it going too fast on a corner. On the upside most of my body armor worked pretty well so I'm only a little bruised and sore, I already ordered new elbow pads since mine did not work, should have known not to get the lightweight sleeve kind. My knee slammed super hard into the ground but my hardshell knee guards did their job so knee is just a little bit bruised. At least when people ask me what happened to my arm I can tell them I hurt it doing something badass.

Also got a new ski outfit on a killer deal so now I want to go skiing: https://www.google.com/search?q=Peak+Performance+Tour+Gore-Tex&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS550US550&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjso6rOgtbOAhUhHGMKHZkmDoQQ_AUICSgC&biw=1152&bih=590#imgrc=_ it's the orange and white jacket and pants, got it for 80% off, so stoked to go ski now.

Here's some mtb footage if anyone is bored enough to watch (I'm not very good), arm shredding fall not included: https://www.youtube.com/embed/cziF_luVDrw

the men are flocking right now. not that i'm complaining but damn, where the fuck were y'all a few months back when my heart was in a million pieces

The last 4 or so years I haven't been able to ski as much as I used to, but this year I'm going to be on new skis and I'm hoping to get back into the swing of it!

Going to the Whistler bike park for the first time next week. I'm excited but also nervous because I've only biked at my local mountain which is not very big, they only have 4 trails really (they claim they have 8 or so but there are only 4 main ones with some segments that branch off and then re-merge). I'm also only an intermediate rider so I don't want to accidentally get on anything too difficult.

Does anyone know how long it takes to build up enough arm strength to bike all day? This is my second season of downhill going 2 days a week and I still can barely do 4 hours before my arms turn to jello. Yeah I should go to the gym, but ain't nobody got time for that.

I did buy these new imprint grips that mold to your hand shape, hoping they help with arm pump: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/us/en/tmr-designs-imprint-grips-premium/rp-prod134670 but they haven't showed up yet.

I've been so lonely and it sucks. I have friends... I guess. But they have friends that they'd rather spend time with so I'm just kind of the person they hang out with from time to time. Which is fine, when we hang out it's pretty rad. But I really really really reallllllyyyyyy wish I had just one friend who I could actually count on.

I actually really enjoy being in the presence of others. I don't even have to be a part of the conversation or whatever but being in the company of people is nice. I don't really have that here though. And I'm not confident enough to talk to anyone or put myself in that situation.

I just want to have people in my life who care. I don't know when or if that will happen. I'm also sick of being single. I think it's been like 4 years and am not a fan of random hook ups one bit. GOD DAMN I JUST WANT SOMEONE TO LOVE ME.

Chef is so stoked on my energy he offerd to bump me down to one night every two weeks or so just so he can have my "mojo" on the kitchen.

how do womens armada snow pants run sizes- wise? i'm like a size 8 in jeans. Probably would lean toward a large.. does that sound right? My pants now are medium sagas (mens obviously) and they're too big and not waterproof anymore haha

I also am a size 8 and my armadas are a Large(perfect to a little big depending on what I wear underneath) and I have medium saga pants which fit perfect on my thighs if I wear something underneath but a little big on my waist.

oh my god i just biked 15 miles after running and why did I do that when I'm so tired and i really hope i can sleep tonight and i have a stupid essay to write and i want to quit my job and i want a giant glass of wine and i cant because of that essay and i also need to figure out this class i'm on the waitlist for and this is my brain currently

Whistler's bike park is pretty amazing. It seems the trails at my mountain are horseshit compared to the buffed out smoothness of Whistler, so my hands and arms were doing fine even with consecutive days of riding. It was funny to hear people complain about the brake bumps and hand fatigue at whistler, I'm like dude these are the smoothest trails ever.

If anyone was wondering about the imprint mouldable grips, after a couple days trying to downhill on them I swapped them out. They were just too wide for my tiny hands (size small women's gloves). The wideness was making it so I couldn't keep a loose grip and death grip = hand fatigue. I think they might work okay for pedaling, or if I had large hands they would probably have been fine. The grip surface itself was very nice and the finger notches felt good they were just too chunky.
