maybe I should steal it and see what people think.

I have one floating around the internet that i believe is

satisfactory_results_101

which I made when I was 13, I don't think I knew how sexual that sounded or how to achieve those results I wanted in a 101 class.

I just laughed out loud so hard in the middle of class omfg

i'm re-doing my resumé and a friend suggested i put a picture of myself on it. Is that a thing? It feels a little too weird and Legally Blonde to me.

I wouldn't, your picture isn't pertinent for a resume. They're going to spend too much time looking at your pic, and not enough time reading about your background and accomplishments. Plus, it's not really professional

Do not include a photo.

I'm going to counter what everyone else was said. This might just be an Australian thing but all the advice I've been given is to put a professional photo on your resume. If you have a linkedin (which you should if you're applying for a professional level job) they can see it anyway. Psychologically people build greater connections with people when they have seen their face and as long as it's a professional looking photo you shouldn't lose out.

That's exactly what my parents said, that there's a better psychological connection between the employer and the applicant if they know what you look like. I don't know, I haven't submitted it yet. I'm weighing both sides.

I guess it depends on your field and career choice. What is the culture of the company? I work in an engineering department with a bunch of dudes. If a girl, or guy for that matter, put their photo on their resume, it would be such a shock. To touch on Brooke's comment, I would say, if you really want to get your photo out there, make a LinkedIn. Start connecting with people.

If you're in an artsy field, then I'd definitely add your photo.

It's for a journalism internship at a magazine. The application itself is pretty casual and I figured putting a picture on my resume would be a good way to make myself stick out from other applicants. However, I do want to remain professional (as this could be a good start to my career) so i'm really torn between including a picture or not.

Ohhh, for an internship? Definitely. I preview the intern candidates for my company, and having a photo would really help me to remember someone. With so many applicants vying for a few slots, people seem to get lost in the shuffle. Most have the same degree, same qualifications etc.

So, I change my original answer. Definitely include a photo!! Best of luck :)

Sweet, thank you!! I'm glad I got your perspective on this! :)

My left knee still isn't fully recovered from surgery last July, and I've already gone and fucked up my right knee. Praying to god this doesn't destroy my summer plans. I'm not sure if I have the mental capacity to deal with another knee surgery. FUuuuck

This is awesome, but I'd never have the..erm, balls (lol pun) to put this on anything. Maybe I will buy one and just use it as a bookmark ha.

I put it on the back of my skis so when I ski past them going really fast they can read it and be like shit she so cool I shouldn't have fucked her over

Week one off of social media(FB/Insta):

-I have had conversations with 2 people in 7 days which wouldn't have happened if I didn't have a job.

-I have texted one person.

-I have spent about 50 hours on homework/school.

-I've never felt lonelier in my life haha.

Anyone ever been an aupair?

Strongly considering doing it this Fall, talking to a family and just have to make a final decision. Graduated in December from University, have a rad summer gig, but then have no plans.

Feel like this is a prime opportunity to get out of the country and just do something different.

Main concerns are: will I feel super weird living with another family? and will I meet other people my age, should I be trying to get a real job?

Any thoughts or insight would be much appreciated!

Off season/summer maintenance is starting, guess i should say bye to having clean fingernails for the next 6 months

Already showered, washed my face, and was in pajamas when I realized we had no toilet paper. Of course on the night I'm super exhausted. So I throw on leggings and jacket and run to the drug store and OF COURSE I run into somebody I know when I'm looking like a hobo holding clearance toilet paper. Fml

I literally walk like Forrest Gump without my leg brace locked. This is awful hahaha

Dude I went through the same thing this last fall. I had MPFL surgery in my knee; I was gimping around a college campus on crutches and one leg in a straight leg brace. I never unlocked mine because it felt so weird. It is the worst. I just messed up my other knee about a week ago and I've been limping all hunched over like a 90 year old woman lately. Good times.

I just unlocked it! it feels super weird and i walk like a freak but at least i'm not stiff as fuck anymore. It was so hard to sit in my classes with it locked haha. But yeah, it's getting stronger and i can't wait to have this brace off. Lol i still shower sitting down...

But dude that blows about your knee, i'm so sorry. I definitely feel for you!

I skied in Colorado for the last time in... who knows how long because I'm moving to whitefish this weekend...

Holy shit this got real

http://freakonomics.com/ has really interesting podcasts. Nice to listen to while cooking or doing other mindless work. The recent one on basic income was especially thought provoking.

I seriously find this is the best time to listen to podcasts. In the kitchen or while sitting at my desk, punching numbers. I'll definitely look into that. Always trying to find new ones! Thanks!!

How come I find myself on Newschoolers every time I open my laptop to do something productive?

same. I'm always logged in on my phone. I probably check it briefly once every half hour or so. People must see my name on the online bar so often and think I have no life. They wouldn't be wrong or anything, but yeah. I'm on here way too much.
