What's on your mind - Ladies edition

made fun of every drunk girl and guy who fell down our stairs this past weekend (college house) until I was the one who woke up with a bruise the size of my face on my ass

Just celebrated my 4 year anniversary with my boyfriend by using our new skins and trekkers to run our dog tonight, then had a 5 course meal for dinner with plenty on wine on the house. I'm by far the happiest person I could be.

Trying really really hard to be patient but really wish mother nature could give us a little somethin somethin to work with

Anybody see pretty faces movie? Am I late to the show with this? I know dyer has been getting some crap for the reality tv stuff (honestly, whatever floats her boat and gives women's skiing another way for people to see it.. who cares who the audience is.. In my opinion), but it looks dope!

Finally got to ski today!! had to drive 12 hours, they only had 1 run, and 4 rails. AND IT WAS THE BEST DAY EVER. now if it could snow at home that'd be great.

I still watch it and it gets me stoked, like almost wanna cry because it makes me stoked/inspired to be a lady rider. Never too late to be hyped on something!!

Best boyfriend ever... The Das Parka from Patagonia and most importantly his favorite Yoke hoodie that he retired to me (what I steal and sleep in when I'm with him). So much gratitude and love! I'm so lucky in love even after 2 years!

It's always awesome when you get a chance to do this. And yes it's been crazy deep in Washington too. A bit too deep since the mountains can't seem to keep up with the control work and someone has already died in a tree well here in WA.

home hill was finally able to open for 2 days! And I decided to ski backwards not look where I was going and ran off the snow into a hole double ejecting to the back of my head... hooray for concussions. Im an idiot

The deepest snow I've ever skied at my favorite place in the world! It's been 5 years in the making and I can't believe it's real! All the homies cheering for each other. Life is so good right now.

My best friend and I went to Killington with a bunch of people and agreed each of us would pay 80 dollars for the condo. Literally went there with mostly strangers and all of them paid me except for her. The only person I knew well is the one to screw me over, lol okay.

So I texted her telling her that I needed it yesterday since she's home for break. And I tried to call her this morning so we could go ski and she has my number blocked. Her excuse for not paying me is because I have a full scholarship for school so she needs the money more than I do... Okay you entitled piece of fucking shit. Sorry that I'm smart and work hard in school ahaha. Maybe you shouldn't have fucking gone on a trip you couldn't afford.

This is the exact reason why I hate having friends. I don't think I've ever had one decent friend in my entire fucking life. And then people call you stupid for preferring to do shit on your own. looool.

I've had 10 days on snow this season and it still hasn't snowed for real. This sucks. What happened to being proud of the east coast. Im ashamed to be a skier living here now.

We're getting some tonight into tomorrow! Atleast Sunday river is and most of NH! Def getting first chair tomorrow!!

"Some" = 5-8in unfortunately but thankful for that!

It's finally not dumping snow for once and I'm the only one that's excited because it means I get to ski some park, although they are still working on getting all the features built and or unburied. The powder has been great, but it's starting to get old getting up super early so I can fight the (often angry) hoards for first pow tracks. I am not a morning person and that extra hour or two of sleep on a non shitshow pow day makes a huge difference. Also my legs need a break. Looking forward to some relaxed park laps this week.

This is crazy for me to say, but I'm thinking about giving up skiing...... Ever since I screwed up my knee a few years ago, I've never regained my confidence on skis. I finally started to feel a little more daring and then I tore up my other knee last season. It's just really hard to gain the confidence I used to have. I can't keep up anymore and when I do, I'm extremely nervous the whole time. I've skied ever since I could walk, but I just don't know if it's worth it anymore for me. I feel like I've progressively gotten worse in the sport. I just don't know what to do. It's really tearing me apart. It's always been my only major interest and I have always lived for it. But now I just don't know.

I'm in the same boat. I'm totally content filming and not charging now. Five years in a row of serious injuries has made me say fuck it. I'm never gonna be at the level I was, and I'm so afraid of getting hurt again.

I hear you guys. Every time I fall I get so shaken up, even if it doesn't hurt and when I get into something sketchy I ski like a total wimp.

It's really such a terrible feeling. I hate it so much. I don't know what to do. I can't even ski powder and be happy because I'm such a wreck which makes me ski even worse! I used to be able to huck it off of cornices and rocks and now I'm afraid to even go near obstacles. I don't know. But it does feel nice to know I'm not the only one!

Do we have a callout thread for just gals? Not callout in a bad way persay but to be like hey at (blank mountain) today wearing (outerwear type/skis.) I feel like the west coasters are familiar with each other but not so much easterners? That's what "was on my mind" ha

No but you should make one (:

My Ninja Suit from Airblaster came in the mail today. I'm wearing it to sleep because it's so damn comfy. Also has amazing butt-flap action happening.

If I make a review about it, it butt an acceptable thing to see? I mean really, the butt-flap is spectacular.

Quotes only heard in a ski town,

"Yeah she's getting really good with her photography but, I heard she's going back to school. I think she's making a huge mistake."

hahahahahaha

All mountain skis... Blizzard sambas or K2 Remedy's????

I haven't skied the Blizzards, but the k2's were playful enough, I out flexed them easily at times though.

Hmm I wish I could just easily demo both. I want something that'll hold an edge with some stiffness but easily maneuverable in tight spots as well as will let me have fun in the trees and fresh snow. I know....there's no such thing as the perfect do-it-all ski :( two completely different people have told me Samba's, but reviews are telling me remedy's. Sambas are $625 and Remedy's are $350.... Samba's are mom skis and Remedy's are sweet looking. I'm open to suggestions, ladies!!! Help!

So i'm moving to florida :(

i'm really tight on space, could i strap my skis to my bike rack? or is this the dumbest idea in the history of dumb ideas?? has anyone ever done this?

WHY WOULD YOU SPEND SO MUCH MONEY ON MAKEUP?!?!?!

I own a thing of foundation and an eyeliner. THATS IT. I spend maybe 20 dollars on make up twice a year. Girls dump like 100s of dollars on it?! Jesus why? how? that's crazyyyyy.

For skiing all mountain and no park I think the Volkl Gotama is the best ski imo. But skis are so very much personal preference. I used to own the K2 missbehaved which is what the shredditor/remedy 102 is now. It was a pretty good ski, very damp and heavy, all k2 skis are heavy, but that heaviness translates into one durable ski. K2 skis will last you forever and the extra weight means they don't easily deflect. I think they made the newer versions softer.

Another ski you might look at is the Rossi Temptation 100. It's on a very good sale on SAC right now:http://www.steepandcheap.com/gear-c...---find-fresh-savings-for-2016/ROS002D-ONECOL

I haven't skied it myself but I've heard nothing but rave reviews about rossignol's temptation/experience skis. Also SAC has the remedy 112 up for $300 which may or may not be a better deal than where you were gonna buy from. The Remedy is certainly a solid choice.

I'm with you. I feel awkward in general when women try to talk to me about makeup, fashion and other girly things. My priorities are just not the same.

Wow awesome thank you!!!! I really appreciate the post! I'm looking for 87-94 underfoot though.... Or else those honestly sound perfect. Can you expand on your experience with the volkls please? I feel like volkls are pretty soft.

The Mantra is a narrower version of the Gotama, although it's still 100 underfoot. Honestly I can barely tell the difference between my 90 waist skis and my 108 Gotamas, they edge just as quickly it feels like, and rail turns on groomers, since the sidecut lines up with the rocker, it's like the camber is preloaded into the perfect arc, instead of having to do the work of depressing the camber first like you would on a camber ski. Anyways I've wrote so many different posts about why I love this ski I'm just gonna copy paste:

"Volkls rocker profile is incredibly subtle, even though it is full rocker a better description would be flat camber with how little rise there is. My favorite thing about this design is how well it handles bad conditions. A ski with camber will buck and bounce when you charge over choppy, ditch riddled, snow/ice, because that's how camber works, it's like a spring. That can be great if you are skiing perfectly smooth soft groomers as you can pop in and out of your turns. It's not so great however, in cruddy conditions. The stiff full rocker profile that volkl loves so much is good because it just blasts through the crap, the nose doesn't dive into every icy track because there is no camber to force it downwards, it just planes right over these small ditches. Tilt the ski a tiny bit over and you get the full edge, due to no tip taper and how little the tip rise is."

Since you like skiing trees (so do I) it's great to go with a full rocker design because you can pivot your turns in a tight situation if you need to. I've never heard anyone describe Volkl skis as soft, maybe some of their women's skis are. All I know is that if you tell a ski shop worker or boot fitter that you ski Gotamas, it's instant street cred. I had one demo shop guy tell me, "people come in here asking for a ski they can charge on so I give them Gotamas or Mantras, and if they come back and say they didn't like it, I know they were lying about how good they are."

The one downside is that the Gotamas are pretty terrible in the park. They want to wash out when you land flat based with any rotation involved.

Okay awesome. I'm never in the park unless I'm filming. Haha okay thank you so much!!! I needed this from somebody. I'll see if those are on demo anywhere in Tahoe. You're the best!!!!

Adulting moment #1865

Getting a really good paycheck from Christmas break, spending it all + some on paying off my high interest credit card.

It feels so good yet hurts so bad.

I'm sitting in the bath with a lush bath bomb that i got for christmas watching family guy on netflix and eating nutella with ritz crackers

life is fucking GOOD

I need a fucking sled.

WAY too much funnn

Me too. I'm lucky I get to sled at work but it would be so neat to have my own. Pow turns on an 800 might be even radder than on skis as much as I hate to say it.

I was offered a promotion at work today. It's for a full-time management position (30 hours/week) with paid holiday, vacation days, and choice paid days. It also comes with a pay raise. I'm currently a part time manager making $10.75/hour working 20-27 hours a week. I don't know if I should accept the position or not.... I'm in school full time taking 15 credits. I'm worried about study time being cut down because of the hour increase. I don't know what to do. I thought typing it out would help me decide but it didn't hahahahaha damn it

So, these moment bibby pro (2013) Alaskan brewing company skis (120 under foot?) have been sitting upstairs in consignment at the ski shop I have been working at. They've been sitting pretty since November and today I caved in and bought them, he was asking $350 and and I bartered for $250 with bindings. Widest ski I've ever put my feet under and so amped about it!

I work extremely hard in school in order to get good grades, which as a bonus scores me some scholarships. With my tuition fully prepaid, I got my reimbursement check after semester fees were taken away from the university today... $2300! Hollllllla. Just enough to spare to help pay off my new skis I bought! Pumped!!
