yeeeeee! This makes me super happy

I dislocated my knee real bad two weekends ago and I know I should give it more time to heal but FUCK I JUST WANT TO SKI SO BAD and there's been so much shit on NS lately getting me riled up and even more motivated to go fuck shit up in the park but guhhh my knee! What if I'm afraid to hit stuff now? What if I hurt it even worse? What if I've lose all the progression I've made this year? The season's almost over and I've got so much left in me. I'm starting to panic.

same. i'm riding better than ever this year and been playing more and having way more fun, plus i beat my top speed from last year! and then i busted my knee two weekends ago... i'm too stubborn for a doctor, praying it gets better so i can ski again, but i think i'm gonna have to sack it up and go make an appt. now i know why people go crazy when they get injured mid season.

I potentially ended my season this week. So I feel you guys. It's hard as fuck but say you do go ride before you're healed and you get hurt again. It'll only make recovery harder and longer): this sucks and it's really depressing. For a while the only thing I was really looking forward to was skiing. Now it might be over and I feel like the season was just getting started. It's shitty.

My advice is to not push it. Today was my first day back on skis. And it was amazing and terrifying. I've been out for 4 weeks which is nothing in the long run, but it still sucked. Anyways I thought I was fine, waited two weeks to get it checked out and found out I had a huge bone bruise on my femur and that I had almost broken it. Took my time off and so far it hasn't hurt the rest of the day. Listen to your bodies and treat them right. You may lose some present time but you will be so much better off in the long run!

I regret skiing on an injury before it was ready, but at the same time I don't. I was supposed to be out for 4+ months when I nuked my leg and I skied on it at 9 weeks because I couldn't stand not being on the hill. I have a lot of complications from my injury and while I'm sure pushing it so hard didn't help it at all, my doctors have never asked me if I skied on it before I was supposed to so I don't think it is the sole reason. But if I have any advice for you ladies its KNOW YOUR PAIN THRESHOLD. If anything feels wrong when you're riding after an injury, other than the usual discomfort, STOP.

My life is so perfect right now it is unreal.

Inhale blessings, exhale gratitude.

The end of 2014 was so shitty and heart breaking for me it is so good to be this happy again.

Haha thanks! It's the second time I bust up this knee and as much as I'm bummed not to ride there's no way in hell id put myself on skis right now. It blows, but I keep hurting it doing mundane shit like shaving my legs or getting out of bed. I know one more spill on it and seasons over for sure.

That's totally how I would take it and even if he is actually 'too tired' then he's totally not worth your time as who the hell would turn down food and your naked body.

You know, I would normally agree, but I feel like this is a response my bf would give. But if he's not your bf, don't waste you time.

/drunk/

Got told I sound like a scary bitch on the radios. Further solidifying my position as the most badass babe on this mountain hah.

Went to the doctor about my knee and It's possible that I could ski later in the season!! I'm happyyy!

I chose to work harder than smarter because I think smarter is easier, and easier is cheating, and I'm not down with making my life easy....I mean... what? Is that as crazy as it sounds? Even I hear it...

Just sold my textbooks to buy more ski stuff hahaha

Someone hire me pleeeeease

Also went skiing on Sunday because my knee didn't hurt anymore, just the muscles in that leg were weaker. I dislocated it again, this time only mildly, then bruised the FUCK out of my other knee by ramming it into the support post of a rail. Wooo! Took advil, rode another 4 hours anyway. Damn knees, I refuse to let you sabotage my season.

Why is feminism such a bad word? In the Rant thread someone claimed 'biggest anti-feminist ever' or something like that. I know for sure that the dude thinks women deserve equal rights, but why is the word itself such a stigma?

The dictionary definition it as "the advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men." I'm sure if you asked anyone if they support that sentiment without

using the word feminism, they would say yes.

I hate that the word has transformed into this ugly image of a man hating bull dyke. I almost broke up with Ben just because he refused to claim feminism. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet right? What can we do to change the nature of the word and make feminism more appealing as a signifier?

This issue has been big in the ski industry this year. I'm tired of talking about this shit. Still, I know nothing is gonna change unless someone does, and I'd rather come off as annoying than maintain an apathetic silence.

Its not a bad thing. Just some people are idiots about how they try to get their points across which makes other guys/girls mad and it gives the term feminism a bad impression. I'm not fully educated on this stuff but the shit I see on the internet about it is so stupid. Shit like "Oh you can't hit girls but we can hit guys" Fuck that. Those kinds of views are extremely hypocritical and i think more people are against those kinds of ideas than the true meaning behind feminism.

Feminism is about the empowerment of women and while we are in the 21st century that still makes a lot of people...uncomfortable... So how do they try to counteract that? By making those who claim feminism out to be this sort of villain. Or the opposite of what feminism is supposed to be, they portray them as a "shrill women" who's grasping at straws.

For example, my roommate several years ago at Hood was a super strong lady, and all about ladies rights and got very heated when she saw women being disrespected or misrepresented. There is a poster up in the local bar of a Burton ad from years ago of a girl who got her muff shaved into a Burton logo, she hated it. In fact multiple times she got heated about it and demanded that they take it down. Now Hood doesn't exactly have a feminist state-of-mind and she got laughed off several times to the point where she was in tears.

She also believed that the empowerment of women meant being able to have the same sexual freedoms as a man, which frankly, did not go over well here either.

Now I agree, with the help of the internet, that there are a lot of thoughts and ideas misconstrued about what feminism is/means and a lot of people claiming feminism but don't truly understand what it is or are using that word to get a different point across. It get a bad rap from some people for using as a way to hate men. Clearly, it's not to hate men, it's to be equal. I don't have to hate someone else to bring me up (but really down) to their level.

I don't claim the word feminist to represent what I am. I am strongly in favor of equal rights. I want women to rise to the level of men in several different positions ( be it in pay, be it in this industry, be it in credibility) but I also want us to work our asses off to get there. However, personally, I don't like dressing overly feminine because it always placed a negative thought in my mind. I didn't want to dress girly because it made me a girl which was bad. And I still have that thought in my head today... which isn't very feminist. And in several ways I think keeping the thought of me "being a woman" on the lowest part of the thought process helps me be more credible. Though I wear makeup, especially at work as a sever. because that raises my ability to succeed.

So what does that make me? A Hippocratic? Maybe. Confused? I don't know.

feminism is a dirty word because people are too stupid to use a dictionary, and understand terminology without turning it into something it isn't. it's something they don't get, so they take the dumbest loudest of the group who are giving something a bad rep, and use it to define the movement. feminism has floated around for the last 20 years by a bunch of misandrists, rather than every single woman on earth.

Beyond disappointed that the on3p guys didn't stick with their original name ideas for the women's line. The butterface or the sit when you pee would have been epic

After slamming my fingers into my top sheet at least half a dozen times I finally successfully grabbed japan for the first time today, yay me.
