What's on your mind - Ladies edition

some chick on my fb is trying to argue that birth control shouldnt be free....... and if were getting free BC, why isnt cancer treatment free or asthma medicine free too.

might I add shes into chicks so she doesnt even have to worry about the struggle.

im so frustrated with her ignorance right now. Im also kinda just in awe at her post and all her arguments against people commenting

I feel your pain!! My boyfriend and I were talking about that ACA and free BC at a bar..cause what else would you talk about at at bar lol. But some meat head from across the bar chimed in a was telling me all the reasons why he shouldn't have to pay for my birth control... he had the most ridiculous, and ignorant reasons. Why can't people like that PIPE THE FUCK DOWN!

You should point out to her that every dollar spent on birth control saves the US tax payers $7. https://thinkprogress.org/u-s-taxpa...ds-on-family-planning-8eb5c609401f#.k6bjpwqth

Pregnancy and raising a child costs (via TANF/welfare, medicaid and other social programs since we generally don't let mothers and children rot on the street) way more than giving people birth control.

I mean, I totally get her point. Why should the government provide it? Well, you can certainly make a case why they SHOULD but some people believe that this isn't typically a function of the government. Not saying that's right or wrong but it's a valid argument in my opinion.

On the topic of the ACA, in theory it's great. But there's definitely issues with it. Issues that my family's business has been affected by. My dad had to cut hours and fire workers because financially he couldn't offer healthcare options to that many people. (idk what the specifics were and have only overheard them talking about it). Obviously this is just one case and there's a lot of cases where it helped people but you can't deny some people haven't been fucked over and in my opinion, them being against it is totally justified.

With that said, I'm totally for both of these things, but it's not that hard to see why people aren't into it.

I reread this and kind of feel like a bitch. Back home everyone is waaayyyy conservative but I go to a really liberal uni now so I feel like I am exposed to a fair share of both sides. In a weird sense, I agree with both. When presented professionally, both sides have great points and sometimes I feel like both sides think the other side is ignorant because they don't agree but really both sides are making logical arguments...they're just not on the same page if that makes sense.

I have found it really really really valuable to try to prove both perspectives(not simultaneous, but try to get a sense of each viewpoint exclusively). I find it rather enlightening to get a perspective that I wouldn't necessarily "agree" with(idk the right wording for this.). I also find it enjoyable to try to disprove myself because it forces you to learn about more than what you think you know.

Fuck idk where I'm trying to go with this. I think my original post was really harsh and sounded directed at something/someone but it was just a general statement. Fuck I hate politics. K I'm done rambling now.

JUST BOOKED MY FLIGHT FOR FIELD SCHOOL!!! I'm flying to Zürich, then to Minorca, Spain. Super stoked that this is coming together. I'll only spend about 2 days round trip in Switzerland, but I'm still excited.

So much anxiety for tomorrow. Realistically, it's a 5.5 hour drive. I drove across the country by myself just a few months ago. 5.5 hours is half a day of driving during that trip. I don't know why I'm so freaked. Hopefully once I get on the road I'll be chillin. Got a new radio so I can actually listen to good music this time. So hype? Hahah. Can't wait to see my best friend though. I miss her.

at that point fucking assholes are just ignorant because they can't relate and don't understand. you should tell him that you shouldn't have to pay for unemployment for his lazy ass to sit in a bar and drink all damn day

I got the heel piece of my FKS bindings shoved in the crotch area too many times today. That's the most painful shit ever.

If this doesn't teach me to not land backseat idk what will anymore.

All the women's march photos are giving me chills.

Me too! Everybody I know is participating in them in different states, countries, etc. and if I hadn't worked today, I would be there too.

This is history. Our kids will learn about this. It gives me chills to see our nation so divided but it's also so god damn incredible to see everybody come together like this.

My little sister saved a kid's life today at Squaw. I've been telling her to bring a shovel with here because of all the snow in Tahoe. A kid fell into a tree well and she dug him out. He was about 7 feet down, I'' sooooo proud of her. She got him out, on last run of the day, before they closed early and idk I'm so excited that's she's a great kid

Dyed my hair black and now I hate myself. Why did I do this.

You'll eventually love it. It's so easy on maintenance.

However, when you want to go back natural, prepare yourself to sit in a salon chair for hours on end.

Yeahhh last time I dyed it red which washed out sooooo quick and awfully so that was cool. The way it faded though and the color of my natural hair looked decent though so I never really had to do anything. But black back to light brown will be tough for sure.

First day of class and I feel like absolute death

It was ok skiing over the weekend while sick but trying to sit in a classroom and focus right now is absolutely terrible. I got the campus plague already it seems.

Is it friday yet? I just want to ski more.

What boots do I go for???? Are Full Tilt's worth it?? Do they live up to the hype? HELP

I love my Mary Janes but after 3 seasons the liner is packed out and my foot moves a bit. It really all depends on what fits you right. Full tilts and dalbellos are really nice imo.

Kyra Dalbello's are what I got right now but I can trade them in for full tilts for free tomorrow, brand new, opinions?

All liners pack out, you should get some intuitions in there

totally worth it. i have the drop kick rather than a womens boot because i have a narrow foot since they have one of the smallest widths. full titl makes a lot of the womens ones wider. I really like lange boots so the full tilts are sweet for how it fits my foot but also for being able to change how stiff you want it

I had Mary Janes for 4 years and loved the comfort aspect of them. But honestly if you're getting into bigger mountain riding, I would stay away from them. After making the switch to new boots this season, I would never go back to full tilts. They are too noodley. Just my experience though! I don't know a lot about boots if I'm being honest, but I do suggest trying other boots.

I dig the fuck out of my soul sister's. I've had them for nearly 5 seasons now, and the liners are super packed out and I'm swimming in both of my boots but I love the way they ride. Comfortability is top of my list when skiing.
