Whats is a good Mario game for the Wii?

getting a wii, and I want to play Mario. I'm not a hardcore Mario/Nintendo guy I just want a trippy, busy, colorful, 'video-gamey', kind of game to have fun with. What should I get?

also do you have to use the wii mote for games like this or just a regular controller?

galaxies probably has the world you're after -- it's cool how they are built on large spheres but you can get a bit nauseated when you first start playing

brawl is a lot of fun though
