Whats harder skiing or snowbarding?

well i consider myself an expert skiier and when i tried snowbarding for the first time i could hardly make it to the bottom, and when this kid tryes skiing for the first time he backflips. so im thinking it may be harder to snowboard then ski haha thats just my own oppinion tho

The reason why it was very hard for you to snowboard was probably because you are used to skiing. Skiing just feels different, in my opinion, it feels better. Your legs can operate separately, so IMO it feels more normal. Same thing happened to me. I consider myself an expert skier, but when I snowboarded for the first time, I fell 7 times or so on the 100 ft long bunny slope. I'm a decent snowboarder now, I can carve on the greens, but I will never EVER go on a black.

skiing is way easier to pick up, but harder to get better at (carving etc)

snowboarding is harder to pick up but easier to get better at because you dont learn one way to turn and they change halfway through

skiing is better by far. although snowboarding does has some sick aspects. Ive seen multiple people convert from boarding to skiing in the shop i work at this year. its easy to learn and there is more stuff you can do. ski ftw

I do both and think snowboarding is harder. I have been boarding for way longer than I have been skiing and can do more in the park on skis and can hack my way through the steep and difficult terrain pretty well.

I've done both and consider myself an "expert" in both. Double blacks, trees, chutes etc. Not much park though. But I picked up snowboarding day 1, heel/toe fakie. Skiing, I picked up pretty quick, not quite as quick. There's different things that are harder. I found that the small park I do was easier on a board. Where a board was harder through trees. Skiing switch for me was harder than fakie on a snowboard. I might be an odd case, but I found skiing to be more of a challenge. And also more enjoyable.

The reason snowboarding is harder is because everyone is scared when just learning to get on their edges and carve. Pretty much anyone can skate so skiing comes naturally to them.

Skiing is easier to learn, but harder to master and snowboarding is harder to learn, but easier to master. I do both, but i like to ski more because its so much more enjoyable.

I have tried both skiing and snowboarding and i find snowboading aloot easier to learn and get a hang of but skiing is soo much more fun and alot more of a challenge

I think its pretty subjective... some people have an easier time snowboarding or learning to snowboard.. and the same goes with skiing.. and then there are some crazy little fucks who can just get on skis for the first time in their life and throw backies...

i snowboard and i tried to use my friends skies for a run and i found it literaly impossible, i could only turn left. it felt so weird to have two stiff skis on my feet

Neither is harder than the other, snowboarding seemed easier for me at first but after skiing for 2 years i realized that some things are easier on a board and some are easier on skis, but difficulty overall is the same. I snowboarded for 9 years. I will say that skiing is certainly a lot more fun though.

what's the difference between a first time snowboarder and a snowboard instructor?

about three days.

what's the difference between god and a ski patroller?

god doesn't think he's a ski patroller.

why do they only give lifties a 30min lunch break?

'cause if it was any longer, you'd have to retrain them.

snowboarding is harder than skiing and its for one reason. your feet are one unit on a snowboard. when you ski, your feet are individual units so they can work differently and account for error and save you from falling. there is no way to do this on a snowboard which is why the tricks have not progressed to the same level of future spins and pretzels and other crazy tricks.

Lul, snowboarders triple all the time and they can't pretzel as well because they hit rails in an entirely different way than skiers do. They can't dig their edges in to set spins which is how skiers ballerina off rails.
