I'm back, I just went skiin today, and I'm startin to realize why so many people hate skiboarers, all the ones I've seen are assholes that think thay can do anything, and think they're so cool cuz they go over a jump....than fall....and acctully, I'm goin to twin tip skis, soon, I'm ready for real skiing again....so, i guess i was bein to defensive for skiboarders, haha....oops.

Okay, here's the deal. People are different, that's a fact. Some people like hard music, some people like soft music, some people like country music. Just because I dont like country music, that dosent give me the right to completely disregard country as music or say that country musicians have no skill, or that country fans dont enjoy their music as much as me, because they have a different taste. The fact is, once you get past a 10 or 15 foot table the extra pound or so of ski isen't going to make that much of a difference in executing the trick. At this point, the biggest difference is in the landing, in which skiing is much more forgiving. Why dont you ski on 250cm skiis? Because you would feel limited. Myself, i feel limited by skiis. Who is to say what is the perfect leingth of skiis? Who are you to tell me that because you perfer longer skiis that i should too? It is a matter of taste, and as long as i am having more fun on skiboards than i did skiing for 6 years, i will keep doing it. Most of you are so caught up in the brand of jacket you are wearing and the 'crew' you are with that you have lost sight of the fact that we are all just trying to enjoy ourselves playing in the snow. As for the statement that skiboarders have no style, this is a personal matter. Good skiboarders have style, good skiiers have style, good snowboarders have style, and anyone else that is good at the sport they do and do their tricks smoothly have style too. I'm different from you, but i'm enjoying myself just as much and trying just as hard, so stop being a conformist bitch and shut the fuck up.

skiboarding could be compared to the boot skis. They were a trial snow product, they had their couple years of being on the market, and now it is time to move on.

 
ahahaha boot skis were pretty funny, i tried them one day at my resort a long time ago.

As people have said, ski blades are for learning purposes only. thats what they were designed for.

I hate if kids are on snowblades thinking that they rule the hill by pulling a little 360 out of his ass or something dumb. Obviously the size of skis can vary from skiblades to whatever.

I dont like snowlerbladers for a few reaons...one, they talk shit and cant back it up. two, trying to uh, blade? trees, cliffs, powder..cmon. three, ive never seen a snowlerblader do anything with style, im sorry. If they had style and werent assholes id give them more respect, but most of them suck and talk shit so i dont care for them.

First of all, i'v never heard a skiboarder talking shit to anyone. That's usualy the snowboarders around here. Seccond, i go up to vermont and ride the trees and powder with my skiier and snowboarder friends, and keep up with just about anyone there. Ask any good skiboarder, it's all in the technique. As for the style issue, mabie your mountain dosent have any good skiboarders, but that is not to say there arnet any, especialy since it's not 'cool' anymore, and they arnet as many people still doing it. I reccomend downloading a couple trailers to some skiboarding videos or going somwhere where there are some good riders.

personally i dont like snowlerblades. But thats just me i have been skiing all my life and i dont think i could handle having little bitchy unstable blades under my feet. I dont even see how it would be fun to try to actaully ski the mountain in them. It is way more fun in my opinion to have some longer skiis to actually go out on the mountain and use. And mostly all your peoples arguements are that skibladers are all little bitches that cant to anything in the park.

There is more to skiing or snowlerblading than the terrain park

my intire crew waited for his ass at the bottem of the hill and beat the shit out of him. i broke his poles agianst a tree, and we snapped one of his skis. fucker got uppercutted so much. he was bleeding from his eyes and shit, crying like a little pussy. i busted out a body slam on his ass and broke both of his arms. the ski patroler broke up the fight and clipped all of our tickets. we where gonna beat the shit out of the patroller but my mom came to pick us up.

just like everyone bought razor scooters when they came out for 1120 bucks, now 2 years later there for like 20 doolars and half of em are in the trash, but theres still kids backflipping them, and its just gay looking, same applies to froot boots, they are dumb and when i see people riding them i just laugh because there trying to balance on little twigs binded to there feet and to me it is just a joke to ride them. I first skied on a crappy school holiday in 2001. I skied for a week and at teh end of it i was only at snowplow still cuz teh lessons were so restrictive. So after i came home I got my family to book a holiday back to the same place i went to, and i thought it will be a bit shit though cuz i can only ski crap.

Then i remembered seeing what one of my teachers called 'bladers' and they were bombing it past us and doin little jumps and shit. And at that time i thought they were teh coolest snow riders in the world - maybe after snowboarding. So anyway i went to this indoor place near where i live (england)http://www.snowdome.co.uk and I had a go on their fucked up salomon rental skiboards.

And straight away i could do ride them totally well. So, inspired by this i bought a pair of cannon M7s. So i had a week skiboarding on them in Switzerland last february and it was cool. But there was seriosu problems in terms of speed and powder floatation - skiboards just cant hack it. Then i saw other skiboarders (not many) and i thought, shit they look stupid, even when just riding not on any jumps or anything, they looked ridiculous with their stance and all that.

So a few months ago i decided to try skiing again at that indoor place and like i could ski. properly, like i saw people doing wen i went on that school trip. I intend to ski now and probably not skiboard ever again, but i might do sometimes perhaps.

So basically, i prefer skiing because - it is faster, u can do powder, it looks better, it feels better, it takes some skill to ride well whereas with skiboards anyone can do it.

I dont dislike any genre of snowriders - well actually i really disaprove of teh kids i see at the snowdome (see above) they are all about 12 and they have salomon skiboards and they probably have never even been to a ski resort. I dont like that side of snowsports. When i was skiing with school and even skiing last year, i wasnt really in touch with teh whole snowsport community - i didnt know wot was going on, but now i am more into it all I can somehow better see what i want skiing to be for me. Sounds gay sont it, but u probly know wot i mean. Its about teh mountains and the hotel and the snow and the people and the skiing too.

If a snowboarder hit me on the slope, i wouldnt hate *all* snowboarders. Same with skiboarding. I dont like to skiboard, but that doesnt mean I dont like skiboarders. I do suggest to all skiboarders i know to try skiing though - the least anyone can do is try everything they can tehn decide. Like i tried snowboarding but i didnt like having both feet strapped together it was weird, so for now il stay skiing. but whatever, if i snowboard i snowboard if i ski i ski who gives a shit. shit sorry dudes i wrote alot of shit. I just write wot comes into my head sorry.

Skiboarding has nothing to do with skiing. Skiboarding is the same as if skiers just used their boots rinding on.

Phrosty the majority of replies here are not infact talking shit about skiboarding, just stating their preference towards skiing. And I dont *only* ski indoors. I ski indoors sometimes because, living in England, I only get six days skiing each year, so i ski indoors to survive the rest of the year.

 
I have probly posted this or a message like his 20 times now but you guys dont get it SKIING AND SKIBOARDING ARE THE SAME!. They are basicly the same damn it, I skiboarded for 2 years and sence last week I ski now. I can do allmost evey trick I could do on skiboaards on skis. For you idots who say they are nothing alike how do you acount for me beable to 540, back flip and under flip in less then a week of skiing? If anything skiing is easyer then skiboarding, I will have to say it is more fun but cuse you can go bigger. For you who read this try to think about it for more then 5 seconds befor replying to it.
