In the market for a new pow ski. I like a stiffer ski than a noodle.

really just not up to date with all these new brands and models.

thanks if anyone can help with some

I've heard great things about the Blizzard Bodacious and Cochise for a lighter big mountian ski. Haven't been on them myself but the shop sells them and would love to try a pair of either out. Definitely a bouple of options to look into.

Both are bamboo core which will add to the lightness of the ski and both have a double layer of titanium throughout the ski to stiffen it up. The Bodacious is 118 underfoot while the Cochise is 108 underfoot so depending on your preference of width. Both are also full rocker i think.

Black Diamond makes some really lightweight skis that are excellent for touring.

Are you looking for a twin-tip ski?

I realize this is a pretty heavy setup but I just bought the 2012 Bent Chetlers and mounted them with the 2012 Marker Barons. I do a little bit of touring but I chose the BCs for their twin tip, rocker, and durability.

Prophet 100 - great stick for touring, shredding groomers and ripping pow. Still king of the do-it-all skis, in my opinion. On a stiff scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being super stiff I'd give them a 7 or 8.

DPS Lotus 120, 4frnt Hoji (medium flex I hear, but I've never personally held them. I imagine they'd be pretty stiff as hjorleifson designed them...), Armada Norwalk, Salomon Rocker2 115, On3p Billy Goat Tour/Wrenegade, PMgear Bro Fat/Lhasa Fat/Lhasa Pow (with carbon)

Have a look at the rocker 115 from salomn. Its the same ski cody and the rest of teh team use. It has a stiffer tail but the same nose as the 122. Its really light thanks to the honey comb tip and tail.

Its a great Big Mtn ski, but if your after teh larger size 188 then dont hang around, they are selling fast.

Size wise Cody uses the 188 and he is 6'3 so you dont need to ski them long

Moment Governor (4.72kgs @196)Moment Belafonte, skinnier, more of a comp ski (4.49kgs @192)

If you have any intrest in the Blizzard line check out the Gunsmoke. It has the samne flipcore construction as the rest of the bodacious/ cochise line, but has a twin tip and has some camber underfoot. The biggest size it comes is a 186, with a 116mm waist.
