Well.....depends on your budget there killer. Adobe cs is pretty badass. There are better and there are free ones. In my experience though the free ones don't suit my needs. Windows movie maker is eh. Good for editing clips together but a pain to edit the clips themselves.
i dont have an apple computer, and theres no budget.. i just dont want to spend 60$ on a shitty editing program, thanks guys. and yeah windows movie maker just isnt working for me anymore haha
Ya, Movie maker isnt going to cut it anymore if you want to make good edits. Off the top of my head: CS5 (premier), Sony Vegas, lightworks (believe its free: http://www.lightworksbeta.com)
I use avs video editor, haven't made any edits on it though. Get the free version and try it out, but anything you make with the free version has a big watermark in the middle.

when you say you have no budget, i feel like you don't understand that professional level editing programs (some of which have been mentioned in this thread) can reach upwards of $1200 and more.
but you get what you pay for. they're expensive for a reason, and that's because they blow cheap or free video editing programs out of the water in terms of retaining quality, available effects, exporting and just detailed effects all around.
Same, I really like it, only $60, really easy to use, but I don't think it has color correction. Or there's Muvee, but that doesn't offer much, just super easy to use.
