Whats a good binding brake size

i'm looking at getting some new marker bindings, tyhe brakes size options they offer are 90mm, 110mm, and 132mm. i'm not to savvy on the whole binding thing so i just thought i'd play it safe and go with the 110's. good choice?
 
It depends on how wide the skis you're putting them on are. There's no point in 110's if you've got a ski that's narrower underfoot; and likewise, you'll need the larger ones if you plan to put them on a fat powder ski.
 
I think its kinda funny how im planning to get jesters with a 132 mm brake and im still gonna have to bend em haha

cant wait to pick up donners next year
 
a brake width will fit over about 5mm more than what they say they are because of the radius of the bend in the brake. The ski can also kind of push the brake out a tad, so if you have like 105mm waist skis, and you have the option of 100mm brakes or 130mm brakes, go for the 100.
 
haha dude they go much more than 5, salomon brakes bend so much, i bent a pair of 100's to fit a 120 waist and they work fine

but look at your ski underfoot and i'd go 90 if it's a park ski b/c you'll have some wiggle room with bending and everything, you can prob get it up to a 100, marker brakes aren't very long or bendy. 110 is very wide, so i'd go 90, but look at your skis!!
 
ya 90mm will be fine. i have a 110 mm on my park ski just cuz thats what came with the bindings.
 
I found it varies by small degrees between different companies. I have salomon bindings, and they bend outwards, so they didn't take much bending. But then I have some rossignol bindings, and the brakes on those kind of hook around skis, so they had to be bent a little more,
 
Pretty much what everyone else is saying. Let's say your skis waist is 88 mm then the smallest you would want to get would be 89 and the biggest would probably be 90 mm. I realize these are realistic sizes, my point is you dont want to go to big or to small.
 
Hey, I know I'm asking the same question (essentially) other people have asked... I just bought some Liberty 116s which have 116mm waist. I assumed 115mm bindings would be too small, so I went with the next option--130mm. They look so freaking big on the ski. Do I need to worry about the brakes dragging?? TIA
 
I just bought a pair of 2016 fatypus d senders which are 112 underfoot, can I get away with a 110 brake on a pair of tyrolia attack2 13s?

Yes, those brakes run a little wide and you can always bend them out to get a couple/few mm.

i think there would be some room to bend it out to fit but i dont see why you wouldnt just get a wider break that actually fits properly

They make 120s but 110 is the right size assuming the waist measures 112 or close to it you almost certainly won't even need to bend them and have an excellent fit out of the box.
 
Okay, I’m going to say this now so people in the future can just buy brakes with no qualms.

You CAN bend brakes out to fit your skis.

- example: 80-85mm brakes can EASILY bend and clear a 90mm ski waist

You SHOULD NOT put brakes on your skis that are 10-15mm wider than your waist width.

- example: do NOT put 130mm brakes on a 110-115 mm waisted ski. They WILL drag when turning on groomers making you not have a good time.

Having wider brakes IS okay. (In moderation - see above)

- example: 105mm brakes on a 100mm underfoot ski WONT drag unless your shoulder is literally touching the snow on a turn.

If possible, get the CORRECT brake size.

- example: 100mm brakes on a 100 mm under foot ski. If this is NOT possible, get the closest size up or down that the brakes offer. Consult advice above for buying tips.

Bindings DO and WILL run a bit wider than listed

- example: your 90mm brakes may turn out to measure 93mm or even 95mm, it’s just the way the ski industry does things to ensure fit and size range.

You made a mistake. You should have put the 115mm's on there.
 
I recently bought some on3p jeffrey 108 skis and I was wondering if I should get 110mm bindings or 115mm since it's a 108mm underfoot

110 for Attacks for sure. What binding are you planning to mount?
 
Thanks for the heads up I went and bought the attack2 13 2020 bindings ???
