Well, I've heard the general rule of thumb for a guy dating a girl is that you take half your age, and add 7 to it, and that's the youngest girl to go for. So I guess for a girl, you would just subtract 7 from her age, and double it.

For example: if you're a 17 year old girl, (17-7)x2=20 so that's the oldest she can go for...

Make what you want of it, but that's just what I've heard from a couple dudes.

its not really about age its about maturity. i first met my girl at 19 and she was 16. late 16 so she soon turned 17 and then me 20. shes mature for her age and doesnt act childish, i think that is the deciding factor of the matter.

i was talking to my brother about this the other day actually. in his opinion freshman cant date sopmores. but younger is okay? and freshman shouldnt date seniors. in my opinion freshman and junior is okay and below that. but he doesnt agree w/ me... maybe its the 'big protective brother' point of view

case 1: (calculating the chicks minumum age)

y = x/2 + 7

case 2: (calculating the dudes maxiumum age)

x = 2(y - 7)

so for case 1, the girl has to be at least half the guys age plus 7 (so if he's 18, i.e. x = 18, she'd have to be at least 16). in case 2, for example, if the girl was 18, the guy would have to be at most 22.
