What you want to be when you grow up

I'm not too sure what I want to do for a career. I'm going to a ski resort program for college next year.

I just want a job that can support my interests in life, and not hate going there everyday.

I've thought about being a teacher though, I think it would be cool giving information to the next generation, while coaching some sports and being a generally helpful guy.

But we'll see what i want to do after the next 2 years haha.
 
a successful entrepreneur, or professional billiards player.

If either of these happen I will spend a lot of time/energy into being super-hot, so that I can capitalize on my success with endorsement deals and magazine features.
 
Im thinking about Nuclear, environmental, astronautical, or aerospace engineering. I want to do something that will have a large effect on our future.Also want to travel to every continent in my lifetime.
 
I want to, (and hopefully will be though it's a fair ways off) a Navy Corpsman after I leave college, then either continue with military medicine or go civilian.

OR

Go to college, go to med school, residency etc. and then become a military physician.
 
your trying to get a commissioned officer spot after obtaining your degree? would have been so much easier if you enlisted and then let them pay for your degree.

For me, the short term job is aerial gunner in the US Air Force. High risk job, but it is something that I want to do and would be pretty bad ass. Get to deploy A LOT, so I get to see the world. And honestly, how many 18 olds do you know that are flying around in HH60 PaveHawks manning .50 cal? or on an AC-130 gun ship dropping bombs on the enemy.

Long term, I hope to have the Air Force pay for my school and get an officer position. Dream is to get my wings and pilot something like an AC-130, or a C-17, much rather fly one of those then a fighter. More realistically I would like to be in charge of the Spec Ops for the Air Force. that is more likely since a battlefield airmen position, is likely to get you stationed in the Spec Ops command center once you get to old to deploy.

I'd really love the opportunity to become an environmental scientist and be able to work on the glaciers to help explain global climate change.
 
honestly, something in the ski industry. anything from maybe starting up a company to working for a ski company. that would be so cool. when i was like 12 i wanted to be a National Park Ranger (still a pretty cool idea) in alaska or like an Alaska state trooper. but that was a long time ago.
 
I want to become a lawyer, work for a big law firm. Then be one of the guys that defend like japanese whalers and tobacco companies. That way I make a ton of money when I'm young and retire early and wear tommy bahama shirts and golf everyday.
 
I honestly have to say I have no clue yet (and no, I am not 12, I am 21 actually). I am studying radiation protecting in the 4th semester atm, but I have no clue if I want to have a job in that are later.
 
I want to work on glaciers, too!I hope to study geology and then specialize in hydrology later on.If that doesn't work out, maybe nurse practioner/dentist/pharmacist.
 
if anybody wants to pilot something in the military this day and age, you need to try and get into to academies. My buddy Nick, who is on NS, is at the Naval Academy right now. Before he went he got his private flying license. And when he graduates in 4 years, he will have about a 95% chance of flying something.

Only 4% of the air force are pilots.
 
As of now I think it would be really cool to start up a home development company and build sick ass houses. Currently in the transfer process and I am probably going to change direction from my business classes to Building and Construction Technology.
 
For a while I thought I knew what I wanted to be, but alas, after speaking with a family friend, I have kinda decided this is what I would love to be. A professional in restoration and professor of archaeology. Most likely I will begin my studies in Canada and probably end up getting my doctorate in Europe.

I have loved history all my life, and especially art history. I almost started crying when I was in Venice and St. Mark's Basilica flooded up a bit because I didn't want the mosaics damaged. I would love to be able to spend time restoring and working on great pieces of art. I also love to read and write, so I am hoping to be able to write historical biographies, fiction, or literature based on the work I do and have it published. My mom is a friend of the man who wrote "The Book of Negroes" and I would also kill to be able to do his job as well one day.

Starting my Freshman year at SUNY Potsdam for Physics/Engineering, so I'd like to be an Engineer for a company designing something interesting, or that I like. (Ski equipment, Bike parts, Plane components, Wepons. The posibilities are endless..)
 
yeah I have been told. getting yor wings from the air force isnt to hard, and that is what really counts. You can get your wings and never fly a plane. But when you go into the civilian world you will have air force pilot training. Being a pilot is more of a pipe dream.

I shouldnt have a problem getting my gunner spot since I will be in the DEP for almost a year and every month they have job drops that I can reserve, really looking forward to tech school for that. You get some SERE training, which teaches how to survive if you crash and are captured. Jump school since you will be in an aircraft, and you get to shoot a wide variety of different guns. as well as learn how to work on them and repair them. Basic helicopter knowledge as well so if something goes wrong you can help fix it.

FUCK i cant wait.
 
For those wanting to be aviators be well prepared before college and try to get into an academy. Also only a small small number of the AF are made up of pilots so you may want to check into the Naval Aviation its very prestigious and as good as the AF apparently

I'm going to be a super successful computer programmer. Started learning at the beginning of the summer and it really intrigued me, so I've really been starting to take it seriously. My cousin is making fucking bank living in Cali as a computer programmer and if all goes well that's gonna be me in 15 years :D
 
true story

one of my dads friends in college scored a perfect 2400 on his SAT's, went to college at Harvard and promptly left to go fly fighter jets. he's made multiple tours in Afghanistan at this point.

i think i'd like to be a criminal profiler. i love the psychological part of it, and i know i know that real criminal profiling is nothing like it but i love the kind of work that occurs in Criminal Minds.

other than that i have no idea....
