What would you pay for.....

who old are the boots? generally speaking, boots become almost worthless once you wear them a few times because the liners will start to mold to your feet or "blow out". the liners will be pretty much custom to your foot and honestly wouldnt be any good to another rider cause obviously their foot is not exactly the same as yours. 10 days on a boot is not that much so they won't be blown out too much but honestly for a $400 retail boot, you're only gonna get about $150-$175. boots are not like skis , they lose a lot of their value the minute you use them. sorry man. but thats the honest truth.
 
Anathema, not trying to be cheap. I just prefer to have boots packed to my foot from the start, 10 times is fairly well broken in and most likely to to your foot.
 
And 400 is not high at all for new boots. Personaly I think they are the most over priced piece of equiptment.
 
400 is indeed not expensive for boots. however i must disagree that boots are the most overpriced. the reason why they are so expensive is because they are the most important piece of equipment any skiier owns. without comfortable boots, you're gonna hate yourself at the end of a long day of skiing (i should know, my boots currently hurt the shit outta me but thats a different story). boots are where you transfer all the power from your body to the skis, they are a reflection of every movement that your body makes. good boots will make you seem like your body and the skis are one, making one solid fluid movement. but shiity boots will just merely make your skiing even shittier. boots are the most essential piece of equipment and i would say MOST skiers neglect to acknowledge that fact. any skiier that is looking to upgrade their equipment, the number one thing to first look at is their boots. not new skis, or sweet joystick poles, or the new crowbars, but your boots.
 
Boots are the single most expensive thing to manufacture, and therefore the most expensive piece of equipment to buy.

Used CRL 90s? Uh, you can get new ones for between $249-299 canadian right now, so I'd say used ones would be worth no more than $175. $150 would be reasonable.
 
well maybe its easy for you guys to get rid of boots because your fucking mommies pay for them. to sell something at 30% of the price after having used them not too many times just doesn't make sense in my head. hell i don't even really want to sell them, but i was just seing where people stand with boot sales period..... and it's quite obvious that people are looking to always get sick deals, but never want to give them. its a complicated world we live in.
 
he bought they from me manufacturer, meaning they were at least 50% cheaper than you'd buy them in a store. know your shit, kid.

but yeah, it's a sick deal of course, but dont think he bought them full price and is selling them for dirt cheap for no reason, because nobody does that. it would just be stupid
 
i dunno that much anymore about alpine boots, but tele boots now come standard with heat moldable liners. they can be molded around 3 or 4 times before theyll start to become not great. but if you sell them to someone else, they shouldnt have a problem having them fitted to their feet.
 
yeah i know its not a problem. i work at a sports store for shits sake, i deal with this kinda crap all the time. if you believe it wont work, then it wont, headcases.
 
Depends on the goggle. Googs with formed, optically correct lenses like Aframes, Wisdoms, Crowbars, and other lesser goggles not made by Oakley, are more expensive due to the lens, which must actually be molded to that spherical shape. Shitty goggles like most of the Spy ones are flat lenses that you just bend so they curve, so they're massively overpriced.

On the topic of boots, $150-175 isn't a ridiculously low price. Don't get pissed cuz you can't unload your boots onto some unsuspecting kid just cuz you wanna get rid of them to get something else.

Hey, if you work in a shop, why not scam a sale off them and get the next customer you have wanting a CRL 90 in 26.5 to just buy yours instead? For, say $200?

Or just Ebay them, suckers pay way too much for shit on Ebay all the time. Put them down as "nearly new" and I'm SURE you'll get $250 for them.

And enough about the "heatforming" bullshit. It barely does anything in about 95% of consumer boots.
 
regular boots are nothing like tele boots. once the boot is packed out, it is packed out. you can "heat form" a boot when you first purchase a boot or even after a few runs in the boot to better mold to your foot, however once you wear a boot, its pretty much gone for any other person. the boot is almost custom fit to your foot. sure, another person can ride with these boots and they will probably pack out a bit more and mold to their foot. however the ride is gonna be most likely extremely uncomfortable. if you work in a sports store you should know this.
 
and on the topic of goggles, goggles are expensive because usually the lens costs a decent amount of $$$ to produce. the rest of the cost is to cover all the testing a design shit for the goggles, just like a pair of skis. all this shit really costs little to nothing to produce (skis, poles, etc etc) but you are paying the costs that these companies had to throw down up front to develop these goggles. but i must admit, goggles are one of the most overpriced item that skis will buy. i also think poles are overpriced but thats just me.
