What would you do if a cop did this to you?

Well that's funny, if you really "don't think there should necessarily be a lawsuit", then why did you first respond with a post that said "sue", and then later say that "In my opinion legal action is not a bad idea at all"?

The comparison with schoolhouse roughousing was exactly the point, the "violence" of this incident was incredibly minor, along with the intent, which was obviously not to seriously injure. Yet you call it "police brutality". Wake up, "police brutality" is getting smoked in the head with a baton.

The actions of the cop were totally reprehensible, but your attitude towards suing over something that minor is much worse.

no no no suing is NOT the answer! And people wonder why liability is becoming such a ridiculously huge issue in the US...

she was in the wrong totally. but people like you need too get out and see i bit of this world.

im not angry at you bro, just really sad for you.

because i know some asshole on here will argue about it with me endlessly

besides that was my initial reaction without much consideration or seriousness to it. I am also very prejudice towards the police especially ones that can't control themselves while they are on the job.

no i don't agree with that comparison small children are incredibly immature. also, hardly exposed to constitutional rights judicial systems etc...

schoolyard ruffhousing establishes these kids sense of wrong and right and what you can't do to people without some form of punishment.

generally by the time they are old enough to be members of society they have such taboos imprinted on them.

and as an american i am a product of my environment whether i like it or not

You really don't get it.

The whole "schoolyard roughhouse" comparison was not about people's intent or motives, it was about the fact that the "injury" sustained by the guy in the video was basically nothing more than a little booboo.

Would you prefer if we compared it to a minor scrape caused by a grown man tripping over at his friday night adult basketball league?

Nobody is arguing the fact that the cop was in the wrong, that's pretty obvious. But to think that incident deserves legal action is just ridiculous, and a good example of the depths that many American people will sink to in order to manipulate a legal system for their own benefit.

And if you really don't think that legal action was the right course, then you shouldn't have said so (twice), maybe then you wouldn't have to waste energy arguing and backstepping.

The cop shoved a kid into a bush. I have jumped into bushes like that on purpose. The "injury" on his back didn't look that bad anyway. If it were me, I'd be super pissed, but thats about it.

it's not about his 'injury,' and it's not about suing for monetary gains. it's about getting that bitch out of uniform. wearing a badge and considering skating criminal does not give her the right to push or even touch anyone. her mentality is that with potential to escalate into a dangerous situation. imagine how she's gonna react in a stressful scenario. this is a very simple and thankfully pretty harmless example of why average folks don't trust police officers. i believe many cops truly want to 'serve and protect,' but it's truly a shame that there are pieces of shit who abuse their power. had it been a civilian of any sex or race, a simple fuck off would suffice. her position is the reason for action -- hand a copy of the tape to her supervisor.

no no no, I dont really hate niggers. i love em actually. Theres this one at my school named Donald. We eat lunch together

WEll I know what I wouldn't do and thats be a bitch like 1/2 you responding to this thread. I wouldn't sue, I'd probably give a what the fuck was that for, and maybe toss in bitch.

Also this racism shit (I noticed a few comments) is fucken stupid. Get this, I filled out a job application to work at my college the other day, and there was a section thats said "if you are of the following minorities and wish for this to be taken into consideration please select below" there was women which although not racist is halarious because in Canada thats not even a minority as there are .98 man for every one woman, then there was one for blacks, asians which I thought made up like a 1/6 of the worlds pop., native canadians, hispanic. I wish I had it with me there where a few other random ones. Just slightly outraged me tho cuz it was like every possible group minus white male.

I agree. Also, you have to be able to prove damages in order to sue, so if the injury caused him to miss like a week of work, and he could prove that, he could sue. But it was just a bruise or a cut from what I saw... and I've worked with much worse scrapes.

think about this though.. do you guys think the cop just showed up from behind the bushes? no. so what probably happened, is that she showed up to kick them out, and the dickhead skateboarder was like watch this guys. and went and did a trick right as she was walking up after she probably told him not to. Cops are very insecure, they flip the fuck out when you question their authority. she shoudln't have pushed him, but you gotta know the mind of an officer, and know that something like that will probably happen if you do.

Love how next thread down is about Bode's cousin killing a cop and everyone offering prayers and thanks for police officers, and here we are casually talking about how we would 'bust caps' and such for being pushed off a rail we didn't belong on in the first place. Sad :/

Regards,

that was uncalled for he wasn't even doing anything wrong it wasn't like he was grinding the ledge he was just doing a nose manual, so technically he wasn't even doing damage to anything

bahahahah that was the funniest thing i've ever seen.

"you you you just assaulted someone!!!!"

what a little bitch, did you see him holding up his shirt as if he actually got hurt. then they post it on youtube calling racism? AHAHAHAHAH, suck that shit up and deal with it. they shouldn't have been there and they got fucking owned.
