This is the title of the one page ad almost at the back of the october freeskier with a picture of skis (this years models soooooo sexy) being chucked into the back of a garbage truck. At the bottom of this ad is a website freeskier.com/environment with the words above it "find out how u can stop global warming." I think being skiers and at the higher end of the list of people who will miss snow if it ever left, I think it is in our intrest to take the first step in helpingin the stop of global warming and keeping the snow coming.

yo we are screwed the snow is gona melt, unless we are lucky, a big chunk of greenland may break of and sink into the atlantic or something, and then europe would be in a ice age for like a thousand years or something
 
global warming is sorta bullshit, it does have an effect, but not as big as everyone makes it, the earth does change temperature, and it is really hard to tell if its the earth naturally warming up or if its from global warming. we had a big discussion about it in one of my classes and there is more proof that its natural temperature changes than global warming.

bush isnt wrong, it definatly could be naturally warming up, like i said in my other post, there is more proof that it is natural than there is proof that it is global warming. people just think global warming is true because its interesting and scarry so its on the news and stuff all the time. the earth naturally warming isnt interesting or scarry at all, so you never hear anything about it.
 
if there was no snow id spend 1 year gathering weapons and arms, waiting to see if the snow would return. When it doesnt I go on a spree
 
now this is just myt perspective on things

ok so ever since the industrial revolution seasons(winter) have been getting warmer and shorter, maybe not noticable then but more and more so now. so what i think is happening is the earth is going through a warming cycle natrually. like when we had a ice age the earth had to warm up natrually to melt the ice since there were no people or polution. so when we add polution to a natrual warming cycle we get global warming.

probably not right but thats my 2 cents
 
well, there actually is a surprising amount of evidence that the agricultural revolution caused a large percentage of the global warming in the past 15,000 years. And there's evidence that part of global warming is a natural process. And more and more scientists are considering that global warming might save us from the next ice age.

Is Bush being alarmingly ignorant about global warming? Yes. Is global warming something we should be worried about? Yes. But there's more to the argument than "is global warming real?"

they will have giant drylsope resorts with quality fucking parks once all of the industry's attention will be turned to snow alternatives. skis will start to change to maximize speed on these different surfaces.

save us from it? thats what we want (kind of). either way, whether Earth heats up (hard to deny that it is) or cools, agriculture will get messed up to some degree, have a huge impact on people, so might as well have the best scenario
 
its estimated in 20 years(could be 40 i forget) that washingon mts wont be able to operate because of lack of snow
 
Im pretty sure Bush is the stupidest fucking person alive and he doesnt know shit...of course he'd say there isnt global warming cuz he knows so much of it is his fault! So we can thank him when we ski astroturf year-round.
 
ya dude it would suck to have no snow but id probally say the best alternative would be indoor ski slopes those r sick. dont know how u'd have big jumps tho?
 
id type up my life story, read it, then realize living is no longer necceary burn it and jump off the largest cliff in the world with all of my ski stuff attached to me yelling something unecessary
 
global warming is definitely valid and is a problem. Greenhouse gases aren't good in any shape or form... Aside from that, the east is experiencing global warming, however, don't completely count out old fashioned winters from the 70s and 80s from happening again. We are experiencing an el nino winter... which sucks for the east..., weather patterns happen, its the nature of well..... nature. Try not to polute, do your part to keep this earth clean and we'll be able to enjoy her for years to come, skiing isn't dead by a longshot
 
oh yea... and wasn't timberline lift at hood open all year? Can't really say winters are getting shorter, winter never ended at hood haha

east coasters, suck it up, its going to blow this winter, save your $$ for trips out west...
 
just about the 500th global warming thread, but hey...

I would probably go look out my window, and see that in early january there is no FUCKING SNOW on the ground anywhere in my town, in WISCONSIN.

look, your global warming thread just made me get a little misty eyed.
