What would the my DIN setting be

well how hard do you ski?? whjat do u ski??? what kind of bindings to you have??? At the very least id say a 6.

it depends..i have mine at 6.5..they usually pop out on hard falls..i weigh 130 so ur alot bigger then me so i would say around 8.5 if u ski mountain..backcountry is differnt

nomensteven, do you even ski? all i ever hear you say on these forums is stuff about equipment. you use gay words like "calculate". i could see you sitting a computer all alone on a saturday night studying equipment. unless youre a pro in which case im terribly sorry.

boot size 28, weigh 190, ski almost everything xecpt pipe and alil park, i been rollerblading for alomst 10 years, and snowbladed a couple of times?

Im thinking about getting something with a 10 rating.

i'm at 7.5 and you got a solid 50 pounds on me dude. go 9, unless your dins only reach 10, in which i would not advise to crank em to the max. it's bad for the springs. your dins are always supposed to be set in the middle of their range. but, in this situation, i'd say you need a din range that hits maxes out at 12 and you should set em to 9

look at the chart in the binding thread. at least read it. full of good information.

need to know:

boot sole length

height

weight

ability/aggresiveness

sorry, there used to be one i thought. maybe it was edited out for liability reasons.

gather the following information and call your local shop. say "my bindings are set at a 9, and that seems kinda high... can you verify what they are supposed to be set at?". It should work. I think i have a binding chart laying around. If i can find it, i'll scan it. its probably a few years old, but it will give you a rough idea what to aim for.

height

weight

skier type

boot sole length

i ski race a lot, as well as free riding on occasion, and my dins at 10 often times up to 12 and i still blow out on occasion. so it has a lot to do with how agressively you ski. take it to a shop unless you know exactly what your doing, cuz the FP needs adjusting as well.

and the height needs adjusting occasionally too. additionally, sometimes your bindings don't actually say the DIN that they are providing. this happens fairly often on old or shitty bindings.

taking it to a shop is the way to go for sure. its usually very cheap. adjust later maybe, but its a good idea to get them tested now and then (like once a year or something)
