What was everyone’s first pair of skis

was the sixth owner of these bad boys. bought them with bindings for like 70 bucks
 
Dont judge the back of my truck too hard it was 3 years ago and I had just moved 1900 miles but this is the best picture ive got of them looking fresh. Then after is the most recent pic of them before I drilled them to a fence on 82.

I didn't mind them at the time because they were my only experience with park skis at the time but once I got another pair of skis (some very light 83mm armada halos) I realized how heavy and floppy they truly were. The afterbangs would also get kind of waterlogged overtime making them even heavier

My dad bought me these in blue. Dad didn't ski but had a good friend that did. Dad's friend and the guy at the shop he sent us to said parabolic shaped skis were a fad. Also Dad wasn't going pay the prices for any of the new gear in the showroom. I remember waiting while the guy went into the back and brought these out in 185cm. I was tiny and the skis were way bigger than me but they were like all the experts ride these in 210cm. Dad was happy he got a deal and completed my kit with some clearance nordica boots from GI Joes. I was stoked I could skip the rental line and get right to the hill on my next school trip
