What up with the Chronic Blends?

I'm planning on picking up some Chronic Blends as I loved my Chronics and something wider would be nice, however... I stumbled on a few pictures of the skis and they seem to have some kind of raised thing happening on the front, sort of like the old atomic tweaks or the pocket rockets. What is this?

If you look on the topsheet you can see the raised part.

It is also viewable here:

with the guy holding up the skis (set zoom to 100%)

If anyone who has skied them or reps line could tell me what that is that'd be cool.

Also, if anyone wants to see what the new line skis actually look like:

it's the same metal matrix that they use in the prophet series.

basicly taking last years chronic wide, and combining it with the prophet 100 and you get the 90mm waist Chronic Blend.

Most likley somethin to compete with the Head Mojo 90 catergory of skis.

I guess that makes sence, but it's strange they don't mention it, they say that it still has the Carbon Ollieband. Maybe they just made a prophet 90 with a chronic graphic for the website or something.

There it is on the prophet 100's

Theres no doubt in my mind that thats the metal matrix on the blends. But I'm not sure if its supposd to be there. Remember people we haven't got the "offical" specs on each ski from line yet, so maybe its on there

The metal stuff makes the skis stiffer and more solid. I don't think it's supposed to be there on the Blends.

and in case u dont know according too lines new site they actually dont have the metal matrix...but maybe there stoned or sumtin who knows

instead of having a carbon stringer they have a carbon matrix similar to the layout of the prophets, but it's carbon not metal
