What tricks should I be-able to land with one year of park experience.

Since everyone else is just gonna be jokes I'll tell you that there isn't like a certain number of things you should do in a year. It depends on how much you ride park, what you cofortable with, how capable of a skeir you are. The most important I'm going to say is who you ride with. If you ride with people constantly trying to push you and that are better than you it is likely that you will progress faster.

not necessarily.. i was with people like that like my first time in the park and it just made me feel kinda intimidated.

Depends on a few things!

1. How many days you can ski

2. How hard you try

3. Your overall athletic ability, such as balance, flexibility, ect…

4. And if you don’t get heart or held back by such things as shin bang, hip injury’s, broken bones ect…

Depends on how much better they are.

If you ski with friends that are a bit better than you it should help. Mostly if they just cna land different stuff than you. Like say you can land a switch 3 and regular 5 but than can land a regular 7 you can help them and they can help you and you keep pushing each other and shit.

you should be comfortable spinning three 's with a small grab on a small to midsize jump. you should be able to do switch ones, grind small rails and boxes left and right foot forwards while coming out fakie and regular... but again depending on a lot of other shit. there is no set goals or rules. everybody progresses differently.

well done mate, have a biscuit and shut up for a bit,

whats the point in saying what you have, you just sound like a prick.

wow your a fucking fag. he made the thread and was telling people his athletic ability for help on where he should be. last year at the end(it wwas my frst year also) i was doin 3's over decent szed jumps, starting to get 270 out of rails and started 270 in onto boxes.. its allabout how hard u want top push yourself. i caught up to the skiing ability of some of my friends. good luck on park riding and have fun man

yeah an apology is the order of the day,

aiming it at landoyo, not they thread maker.

apologies all round

It also depends on where you ski, if you have good features your more likely to get better than if you have a poorly made feature.

my first year was last year. 50 days of skiing

At the end of the year i could:

-slide most rails at the hill (30 ft dfd was the toughest i could do)

-180 very comfortably

-360s

-tried unsuccessfully on the last day of the year to put grabs in my spins

-switch on most rails

-both 270 outs

-a couple of switch ups

My first year was last year, i can slide rails most rails, rainbows, dub kinks, 180s, 360s. This year my goals are 540s, work grabs into the 360s, backflips, and start working on 270s off rails and maybe some attempts at switch ups.

1's

3's

possibly 5's depending on how serious you were about your skiing

at least be able to hit a decent sized rail and and pop off switch

any combination of 1's 3's or 5's with like a safety grab or somethin pretty basic

my first year i started like late feb, so i didnt get much done, shitty 1's and 3's and thats basically it.

second year- switch 1's, 3's, and 1 oe 2 5's going much bigger on jumps, and i learned rails. fs 270 outs and fs switchps.

third year- dialed everything up to 7's and threw a few 9's, dialed fs switchups, starting 270 ons and started doing much bigger rails and jumps, started learning blind 270s and blind switchups.

last year- more spins on, more spins off (both ways), more switchups (both ways) and started trying corks.

thats pretty much what i hit the 1s and 3s my first year skiing. tried a 5 too early and that crash ended my year of skiing...

first year you can be anywhere from landing 3's to dialing 9's and corks. depends on how much you ski and what you want to accomplish

with one year park experience you should know not to start dumbass posts like this... its one thing to enjoy skiing and want to push yourself... its another to be a total douchebag

my first year of park was last year, and by the end i could do:

1s

3s

5s

backies

rails and boxes

this year i have to learn 270s on and off, switchups, and put some fucking style in my spins, and i would like to be able to throw a better frontflip without breaking my skis 4th run, better looking rodeos, and maybe a 7 or somethin. dude, it depends of what kind of person you are. if your fearless and will try anything, you might progess more than a person with a lot of fear. its all how fast and how you learn, just becuz you cant do it doesnt mean your bad.

Well that is probably because you're a girl... no offense. I was watching some chick at Progression, and there was too much inhibition to go out of the comfort zones, even among decent skiers; seems like a girl thing.

But as for the main question.. don't set yourself a quota, because the way you asked it seems like it will set yourself up for disappointment.

Several things will certainly influence your progression (as others have said)

-days skiing

-background in skiing (are you solid as fuck or still sketchy)

-where you ride

-you (like, are you willing to get some bruises? can you apply your mind or something like that? do you have natural air sense, luck, etc etc)

-agility

-who you ride with

-blah blah blah

work on fundamentals, like solid spins, solid landings, solid grabs, solid everything, and add shit as you go along. I see a ton of people like start trying switch corks (or what have you) and shit because they are starting to get some solid 360s in. fucking whack.

there were some good replies here.  However, asking that question is kind of like asking how smart will I be afer 1 year of college?  There are a ton of variables.  The thing is to have fun and push yerself but dont be an idiot.

i learned how to do rails before I learned to spin/jump. At the end of my first year i could do 3s and front/back 2 out of rails

what a tool!!

all the guy asked was what is a reputable repitoir (sp?) of tricks to have after one yr of skiing.

go get back on your snowblades and get this hate outa here

it totally depends on ur enthusiasm and who you ski with. After racing for 10 years, i switched to freestyle last year and i am obsessed with it. For most of last year i skied alone cuz all my friends are bitches and never fell like skiing, but all i could do is switch 1s and iron crosses. However, one night i skied with some really good kids who go to my school, and my second run through the park i was doing 270s on and off of double kinks.

dont worry about it,, you just need a sick outfit.. go buy yourself oakley gear head to toe, 08 skis, a bandanna, and youll for sure be throwin sick tricks by the end of the year
