What to do in/around Bangkok, Thailand?

Julley julley!

My travel partner is departing next week and I'll be taking a bus to Bangkok where I'll spend 5 days.

Anyone have suggestions for inexpensive but not terribly shitty places to stay, sites to see, badass but not evil places to see a goddamn tiger, hit the beach, or general sightseeing and touristy nighttime shit for a solo 21yo dude to check out? Not tryna die, just have a good time. Cheers.

Train up to Ayutthaya. Train/sorng taaou to Samut Sakhon & Amphawa. That's all extremely cheap and easy from Bangkok.

Bangkok's smaller boutique hotels offer excellent value, but there are plenty of cheap options throughout the city. Avoid Khaosan Road unless you want to enjoy the most renowned strip of tourist mediocrity in the city.

Other than that, eat food, eat more food, and when you can't possibly eat more, just zip around on the Chao Phraya and check out the various Wat that dot the city. Then keep eating.

Probably a shitty time of year to go to beaches I reckon.

When I was there we stayed in some super nice hotels for relatively reasonable rates.

Theres the big night markets which are always a fun time. get a beer and walk around and haggle.

The reclining buddah is pretty cool and cheap to see.

Wat Arun was closed for repairs when we were there but that would be pretty cool.

We went up to chiang mai which is where we did the whole elephant thing

but pics are cool.

Where would you recommend I stay? I wanna have a quiet spot not too far from central happenings.

Cool. Looks like I've got 4 full days of eating dank food, checkin out temples, and scoring with hookers.

Sex Tourism is the only appropriate response. I recommend you check in with delicioustacos.com for inspiration.
