SHINBANG!!! Ouch, i got the worst shin bang ever yesterday. I though my legs were broken it hurt so bad. Cant walk today, much less ski. I've been icing and rubing stuff on them all day, but no bettter. Any suggestions on how to heal and/or prevent it?

Have you broken your leg in the past cause that really contributes to the pain

you'll just have to give it time..as far as I know for pain like that there is no actual treatment, but you can find stuff to ease pain...if you are having issue's with constantly banging your shins, I might recommend some shin-guards, although they do look pretty dumb...give it some time man..you'll be good to go

only time will make it hurt less. In the mean time, try a softer flexing boot with a really tight cuff. If you can't get new boots, go to a bootfitter and ask for 'eliminators.'

so those 'eliminators' actually work?

Bump, because this is damn important... one of my biggest problems rite now.

Eliminators are a medium density foam shaped just like the tongue of the boot that you put in your boot under the tongue. Really a simple concept, but can work wonders for some people. You should see a boot fitter if you want to soften your boots. There's stuff you can do to them to make life a lot more pleasant.

another idea is to smash bambo poles against the shin, or repetadly kick a pole to toughen up the bone, like the movie kickboxing. Good luck with that.
