What to build

What up NS?

This year at school I am taking an independent study thats based around digital engineering and modeling. Basically I have to do the blueprints for something and then build and test it. The original course required students to build a medieval catapult, but since Im doing it independently, I can do whatever.

I need a good idea on what to build. Something thats not to complex like a cell phone and something that I can build with reasonable tools.

The Gauntlet is thrown.
NS, What should I build?

and for those who are into it, +++++ karma in return for good ideas

how about a fan gun snow maker? that way you can make it which would be sick and then use it to have a sick backyard setup

ill be 18 the first day of school, but i doubt my teacher or the school would be down with me making a vape

Well my friend who airbrushes, and sprays things needed a 'booth' with proper ventilation in which he could paint. Basically he built a booth like thing with mini fans built into the roof that sucked the fumes out. He also put in cabinets to the side and lights.

I'm sure that'd take some brainstorming and might be sort of difficult, but if you actually enjoy building things you could definitely get creative with it. It's like the picture below but with fans lights and raised off the ground by shelves he built himself.

build a puzzle desk like on national treasure 2. like you have to find certain drawers on the desk then you put them in different positions and at the end you get like some candy or something. that would be pretty fun.

Build a high-speed winch that mounts on a trailer hitch with a 400ft+ line.

You can make one out of a 6hp lawnmower engine and it's 10x faster than a dropin and can be used in the summer for wakeskating too!

check out winchskating.com (i think that's the site)

It would cool to make a skateboard. You could even try to make skis. It would be sick to make skis too.

i did a project similar to that i used solar panels and mounted them to a converter so that i could use the energy from the solar panels to power and small electronic device

im in aeronautical engineering and i have a project where i have to build a go-kart and we keep it after this is some fucking sweet thing! and not so tough to do also!

defo make a segway, but add springs to it so its like a pogo stick too and off road wheels!!! maybe a propeller too?

battery powered backpacking handheld hot dog cooker with a drawer for buns and ketchup. Make it nice and small so you can put it in your backpack for fresh dogs on the mountian

or a few longboard decks, and depending on your tools and you could make some trucks. but that would be hella hard to do.

If you're in engineering and have all the right tools at your fingertips - you can make ANYTHING. In my engineering class in highschool we made a skateboard. We cut out the wood and made a press, made some trucks and cut the wheels out too. It was pretty shitty looking and didn't work that great, but it functioned. We didn't put that much love into it either.

make yourself a dope computer desk. and trick it out with cool little draws adn little shit to hide and put shit into aswell. that would be dope to build. nothing automatic but just nice enough to be original
