What the hell is gypsy style?

gypsy style is kids wearing tight pants who claim they are gypsies. where they get this from, i have no idea. i was told this winter that i dress like a gypsy and i replied i really hope not.
 
yeah wearing skinny pants and skiing... its like the plauge of the emos only with skis and tye-dye :O
 
...ya, cuz that's all there is... you either wear baggy clothes and are a "gangster" or you wear tight pants and are a "gypsy" ???
 
can i wear a tall tee and still be a gypsy? i'm raelly confused. my one snowboarder buddy says you can only be a gypsy if you wear tight pants. i really want to try this nwe and innovative style but im afraid if i dont wear a tall tee ill get made fun of. besides my mom just bought me a bunch of XXL tall tees.

whats the best way to fit in? help!
 
noooo when did I say that in my post? I was describing it by saying that it is the opposite of gangster, I never said anything about the in between clothing fitting.
 
also, i heard that the president of france has been deporting "gypsies" from france. does that mean that they dont allow snowboarding over there anymoer?
 
haha so i have this grouping system for styles.

1. Gypsy style, for example andy perry, steve stepp

2. Gangster style, henrik harlaut, charlie owens

3. Textbook style, tom wallisch, will wesson

4. Smooth style, mike hornbeck, sean jordon

i dont classify them from looks, just style of riding

people also refer to stuff like taps and weird alternative (for lack of a better word) tricks as gypsy. so when someone's like oh that feature is a little gypsy for me they mean they dont like that it's 2 small rails with a weird bonk in the middle or something, rather than just a normal big nicely set up rail or whatever

that was hard to explain but i hope you get the point
 
please for the love of god do not starting using the word gypsy in that sense. just dont use the word gypsy at all.

none of you seem to have any idea what a real gypsy is.. gypsies where whatever free clothes they can find in a camper van or dumpster, wrap yassir arofat scarves all over their heads, eat wild berries, foraged forest finds and ramen/potatoes and leave hoards of trinkets wherever they go, whilst collecting new trinkets.

ireland is infested with them.. as is mt hood in summertime
 
this is the fucking worst list i have ever seen...
"textbook style" --- there is no such thing in skiing, everybody's is too different
and andy parry and steve stepp are NOT gypsies. stepp is MAYBE a quarter gypsy, just because he wraps his head in that scarf all the time... and andy just isnt....
 
Who the fuck cares what style people are. It really doesn't matter, some people like baggy/tall clothes, some kids like tight hippy clothes but when it comes down to it were all the same. We are all out there because we love the sport of skiing and we enjoy every minute of it and strive to get better. So lets end the hate on styles because there's people who might not like your style.
 
who the fuck cares who is "hyphy" or "gypsy". Let people dress the way they want to dress. There is no right or wrong way to style when your skiing. I personally admire gypsy style and think it is dope as fuck. So lets all stop the hate and the stereotypes. If somebody like tight pants and tye-die let them wear it. We are all skiers.
 
hahaha everyone is freaking out.

i didnt make this to be a list. just had this in my mind for a while and wanted to spit it out. sure phil can go under smooth. i just didnt want to spend 3 hours typing names. and by textbook i mean perfect. also like i said its not about how they look just my opinion of their style.
