What the hell is a line blend special edition

so I'm skiing at my tiny east coast resort today and see a line ski I have never seen before. after closer inspection I discovered it was a line blend but it had a totally different top sheet and it was called the special edition. the only thing I could find on the internet about this ski is an eBay listing form a while back which I will link, but I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about this ski. (disclaimer: I might be a dumbass and this ski could be a normal thing)

what do you mean a prototype. is it a different ski or just a top sheet change

Its got square tips and more flex, if you can believe it. I Think they were sold within the past month or so. One guy at my local ski resort is on the line am team, so he had them.

yeah its wack how there is nothing about them on the internet
 
It was a pre-release of next years Blend! They did a limited drop of 100 skis or so, the top sheet was a one off for the drop and next years Blend will be the same construction-wise.
 
The guy selling them was trying to sell them on here you might be able to track him down. They are just next seasons blends with a different top sheet.

As already confirmed, those are the 20/21 Blends with a limited edition topsheet. They changed the sidecut and also the profile a bit. The flex is nominally the same but to me, they initially feel a little softer in the nose but with perhaps a little more rebound.
 
They were one of the kickstarter prizes for the new LTC van as well.

(I believe there were 5 available at the $500-donation level, which got scooped up almost immediately)
