manwiththemet: My name is Lorne Cameron from Strathclyde Uni. Yeah I was at BUSC - I didn't do to well in the comps though: 2nd in slopestyle (I didn't like the course - sloped rail, tiny kicker, three hips, flat rail); I missed the pipe because I snapped my pole right before so I went back into town to rent some, thinking it would be running late, and by the time I got back it was finished. The thing that really sucks is that there were onoly 2 entrants in the ski pipe, so I could have snowplowed down the middle and still won a pair of Line skis. And in the big air we only got one practice run right before the final, so I tried a 5 on the huge booter with very short landing (see pic below), came up short and boucned down the landing onto my head. So then the dude who built the jump comes out and says if anyopne comes up short again, they close the comp down. So on my second run I tried a 5 on the smaller one and didn't land it, so I came away with nothing. First place was an ungrabbed 7, and 2nd and 3rd were average 360 grabs, so I was pretty pissed off - a solid 360 grab on my first run would have guaranteed 2nd or 3rd. Ah well, there's always next year. What's your name and what uni are you at/will you be at? You should come up for BUDS in November - great comp and party last year.
And 'X': Impact shorts are padded shorts to wear under your snowpants - they've definately saved my ass on many occasions, especially on the dryslope.
