What the fuck microsoft word

ok so heres the story. Paper due tomorrow, just have to change it for the final draft, and microsoft word decides to "lock" itself. It says this modification cannot be made because the selection is locked. I do not have a trial version of Microsoft office, it came with my computer. I have the product key, but that just says that its the wrong product key. sooo what do i do?

openoffice is your friend. just as functional as word, but free and open source. its like firefox but for office

google openoffice its basicly a dumbed down version of microsoft office for free. and it will open any office files. just open it with that change it and print it
