What the fuck do I do NS?

Basically, I have the choice of getting kicked off my baseball team, or getting suspended for a game. My coach is an asshole, but I really want to play. He has no respect for me and one other player, because we don't kiss his ass and shine his shoes. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

keep playing man you'll regret it if you quit. dont let bullshit get in the way of sticking to a sport you like

uh...skip a game vs skip a season...the choice seems logical to me...

ahhhh we need to hear the story! but i would totally sit out one game over a season. i mean if you really want to play then it seems pretty logical and i dont think you should quit if you want to play again next year or something

I was leading off third base, the catcher throws it to third so I start running home. The catcher catches the ball the third baseman threw back to him when I am about 20 feet off home and 5 feet away from the catcher. I knock the catcher over (which is completely legal if he is in the baseline) and he drops the ball. I touch home, and the ump calls me out. I'm pissed. I walk back to the dugout, throw my helmet (not at anyone, at my bag) but then I have to leave for a passport appointment. As I'm walking back to the car with my dad, I cuss a little bit, but not loud, and not at anyone. Today, three days after the game, my coach tells me that I either have to sign something and take a one game suspension, or leave the team. It's complete bullshit, because the coach says that I gave some people the finger, which I didn't, and I cussed at someone, which I didn't. He also said that he's talked to me about my language three times before, and he's never said anything.

thats sucks man, but what can you do... just take the suspension and learn to suck up a bit. its a skill you will need in life

The coach is such an asshole though. He lies. He told my dad that he talked to me about cussing, when he didn't.

trust me, you come across people like this throughout life. best thing to do is try to ignore their bullshit and dont let them get to you

its probably not the coaches choice to suspend you? umpires are usually behind those.

take the suspension, it's not that big a deal. who really cares what you coach thinks at the end of the day anyway. just tell your dad the coach is full of shit but that you're gonna take it quietly

It is the coaches choice. As of now, including me our team only has 10 players. If I quit, there are 9. That means that every player would have to show up to every game.

oh well, said coach is a douchebag then.

he probably isn't respected much in other elements of his life so hes having a bit of a power trip

my lacrosse coach was the biggest assholes and (not to brag) i was the best defender on the team and can truely saw i knew more about lacrosse than this fat fuck. he was actually the stupidest guy i think i have ever met both lacrosse and life wise. hes also so stubborn and always thinks hes right. i also do sometimes make him look like an idiot because he is one, but he has this joking personality towards me yet when i joke he gets so pissed

so anyway, we had practice before a game and my leg was hurting me (he knew this) and i also had to leave early for drivers ed so basically, it wasnt worth practicing. now this was JV and we didnt have like a no practice no play rule or anything, and he knew i knew my stuff anyway.

so i get to bus a little late the next day and hes like, "dubs, your benched." and im just what "what? why... i didnt even do anything." then he tells me i never got cleared by the trainer, and im like, why would i need to be cleared? aprently he though i went to the trainer before practice the day before, but i didnt... and he also made up the having to be cleared rule. so i own him infront of the entire team, but because hes so stubborn he still wont let me play!

THEN i was like, should i call my mom and tell her not to bother coming to the game which is very far away? and hes like, why wouldnt she come? and i said she comes mostly to watch me play of course, and hes like, "well thats pretty selfish" and so i yell out "YOUR CALLING MY MOM SELFISH?!?!", then he stops talking. so i call my mom and im like yelling so he can hear me "mom, i am benched, you dont have to come if you dont want to. no, i have no idea why. some bs about having to get cleared? i never even went to the trainer. yeah i know its stupid and doesnt make sense, i cant do anything about it."

so then, the best part is that our defence hadn't let up more that 4 goals in a game the entire season, and this game we played a shitty team and let up 5 goals and only won by like 7, so you could tell he needed me, but i just sat in full pads on the sideline fucking around.

but it doesnt end there. he then told my mom after the game that i had to be cleared and i wasnt and i didnt listen to him, which is complete BS. The night i email him and say im sorry for the way i acted but i have no idea what your talking about with getting cleared and what you did was wrong and unjustified. He then emails back and says "i never said anyitng about getting cleared, you just disobayed my orders.". SO HE LIED TO ME AND MY MOM ABOUT ME HAVING TO GET CLEARED!!!

so basically i made my coach my bitch. have fun reading all that

So true. Just take the suspension. Consider this your wake up call...welcome to the world. Like my crazy friend said, "life is tough, wear a hard hat."

quit. baseball's no fun to play. quit and take up skateboarding/rollerblading/kayaking... something enjoyable. i played spring/summer team sports pretty much my whole childhood. when i got to highschool, i realized it was way more fun to skate and whitewater kayak then do some silly organized team sport. just my 2 cents.

go back after the game dudeif he gives you shit just break his kneecapsif you wanna snitch, go tell the league dude
