today i saw a commercial for a program to help keep kids away from ciggaretts and other drugs and alcohol. and if you call the number they will send you packets of information and help in keeping your kids ciggarette free. they kept emphazising(sp) the ciggarette free part too. you know who sponsered the commercial, and who started this program? Phillip Morris, the biggest tobacco company in the industry. what the balls is going on here? are they scheming something? why would they advertise against their own products? later.

ok first of all the commercials are part of the lawsuit settlements, the big tobacco companies HAVE to do it. Secondly marijuana has now been found to contribute to mouth, nasal, throat, and lung cancer. your lungs are meant to have oxygen in them, they turn black and cells are damaged thanks in the most part to the smoke itself, be it from pot or tobacco. the other additives in cigarettes dont help, but they also have additive free cigarettes. the only thing pot has over tobacco is that it is not physically addicting(both are mentally addicting). Pot will not be made legal because it impairs you. contrary to many cigarette smokers beliefs cigarettes do not calm you down they are stimulants, they actually speed up your heart rate. cigarettes will not be made illegal thanks to the tobacco companies monies and influences, not to mention the amount of jobs the tobacco industry creates.

back to the origional topic... around 70% of cigarette revenues in Canada go to the government as 'taxes' (I'm not too sure what the actual % is but it's damn high). The Canadian (I'm not sure if it's federal or provincial or both) government sets the prices cigarettes. Still they've had anti smoking campagns for years. They probably spend 0.3% of their cigarette revenues on telling people that smoking is bad. Really, it's all just a load of bull. You're going go fucking die anyway. And once you're gone, and everyone you know is gone, is anyone really gonna care? Fuck the world and everyone in it, do what you wanna do.

wow i cnat beleave how uneducated most of you are. Its a fact that '1 joint' = about 4-8 cigs (depending on quality and type). the reason you dont here about people dying from pot is because by the time you develope cancer you are older anyways and have stopped smoking pot, but pot does have cancer causing chemicals in them too. secondly you smoke far less pot then cigs so its less smoke entering your lungs. but its the tar in the pot that gets you high but also has more chemicals in it because there is no filter. Just about all cigs have filters on them.

3rd if you say say smoking a bong acts as a filter. then yes you are right but it also reduces the THC entering your lungs so in return you are smoking more which averages out to be the same as smoking a joint
