Adobe Premiere Pro CC + Adobe After Effects CC.

Adobe is by far my favorite editing program that I've ever used, I used FCP7 for about 4 years prior to my switch to adobe.

I think the Adobe CC suite is the best option if you want to learn. its only $30 a month for the entire suite (photoshop, flash, premiere, after effects and everything else they make) and they have great online videos to help you learn the software. They also work on both mac and pc and you can install them on 2 computers

On my own, I always use Premiere Pro. However at school they teach us FCP in first year and Avid in second year. I feel more confortable with PP.
