What Slackline Do I Get?

Okay, so I caved and even though I live in the city, I think a slackline would be something fun to do in a park with some friends and it would also help my balance. I looked at Gibbon Slacklines and I was thinking either buying the Jib Line or the Classic Line. What slackline do you guys recommend? Thanks!

Just get a big ol' line of webbing and learn to tie some fancy knots. Way cheaper and works just as well.

+2 for the jibline. A bit higher learning curve to it then the classic, but once you figure it out, you'll be fine.

You just got to make sure to set it up properly and take care of it, or eventually the line will get all messed up along the edges.

What this guy said. Get about 70 ft. total of 1 in. webbing and create a line for yourself. Webbing is about $0.10/ft, so like $7.00. Invest in 4 carabiners for about $6 each, toss in a couple rappel rings or chain links and you have a very workable system. I even prefer the 1 in. line to a 2 in. as it seems more suitable for walking, unless you're into acrobatics on the line.

You can totally even get away without any 'beaners no problem. For years all I carried was webbing and the knowledge of a few knots.

Of course, a couple of carabiners and some extra hardware makes it a lot easier but I knew a ton of guys who did it all the time with nothing but webbing.

Yeah, we had one tied up in our front yard in college with just some 3" webbing tightened down.

I slackline 30 min-an hour everyday. I have one in my front yard. Do not get a wide line, or buy a 'slackline setup'. that shit is weak sauce. Go to REI and buy some 1" webbing. It's like $0.30 a foot or something. Then either buy some caribiners or a ratchet at home depot or ace hardware, theyre like $8.00. I personally think it feels a lot better when you use a small loop around the tree to attach the line to, forming a triangle if you will. I also prefer some 'slack' in the line which is also why I dont like the pre-made fat stiffer lines as much.
