Hey my local ski store is havin a 50% off sale this week so I want to get my equip now so I can actually afford it. I'm tryin to decide what skis to get. So anyway, I ski east U.S. (pennsylvania) mostly hardpack and ice. I want to be able to ski the park as well as the rest of the mountain. Anyone have any suggestions as to what skis would work? Right now im thinkin 1080s is that a good idea?

1080s are soft and squirly on hard stuff. If you are out east, get some mad trix. I live in Wisconsin, and those things go through a lot landing on ice and they can still carve hardpack/ice if I want. Don't get any Salomon twins if you live in shitty snow areas...just my two cents.

i demoed a pair of 1080s and they were nice in the air and the park but a little hard to turn. not very responsive

In the words of AC/DC: We roll tonight... to the guitar bite... and for those about to rock... I salute you.

mad trix would be a great east coast ski

wow good observation! You are officaily the new ns genious. You can pick up your award after I shove it up your ass. - Phrosty

The Rossi Scratch is also a very good ski all over the mountain. The dimensions seem perfect for east coast riding.

if u live east coast go with a tiffer ski and def. not 1080 if you want to ski the whole mountain as well as park. i have pe's and they take a crap load of abuse from me. good strong ski and good warranty policy from k2

I think u should go with the mick nick pro's they have never given me any trouble and they are great in the air and landing on ice go with them.

P>S> tell us what u decide to get.

So let me get this right....you came asking for advice, all of us said to get something other than 1080s, and that is what you got? I just think it's kind of funny. I hope that you like your new sticks.
