What skis?

Yes this is another "What skis" thread. Amazingly, even after using the search I have found nothing of use.

This season was my first season skiing. I rented a pair of skis for the season, and learned on those. Obviously they aren't high quality skis. I didn't spend much time in the park, but I'm able to do double blacks without eating it now. I'm more interested in going down the steepest thing I can find and doing big kickers than doing a bunch of tricks, rails, and boxes. What skis would be a good choice for me?

Thanks for the reply, +K. Are there any rockerd skis that I should look at? I will probably be spending a lot of time in the pow.

yeah he can learn..its all good..

for rockerd only hear good things bout moment..

have u thuoght abuot surface skis..legit stuff

well if you like big mountain and not into park a very good ski that i own is the Rossingnol Classic 70's which i use just for carving and going fast they will never grind rails or anything i demoed these and happened to bee my dad like them so much he bought himself and i them so i have 2 skis now the others are for park there twin tipsbut if you love carving and going fast and out of control and you just a crazy knarly dude who likes to fight the mountain then these are for you http://www.rossignol.com/US/classic-cs-70---system_F9130_product_ski-men-skis-all-mountain.html#

you can find them there and i have a picture of me with them on my profile i gotta say they look soo sweet in persongood luck i hoped i helped and have fun

ohh yah well idk i own a pair of salomon 1080's foil and i like them there light and twin tips and there kinda fat and also they too carve really good their ment to do park and carve or w.e but i want to buy a pair of Line's skis for park cause i wanna try there butter zone ski's technology

Alright dude what you want is the K2 kung fujas they are just what you want awsome in pow and kills it in the park. get this seasons not next.

I'm 5'9", I weigh 150lbs, and I'll be skiing in the park, but I mostly like to do steep pow stuff.

K do you live in west or east? Id recommend something more powder oriented than park if your gonna definitely have a consistent amount of powder

If your just chilling on your skis or doing everything: Line Blend

hitting jumps and sometimes nailing rails: Line chronis

Just rails and small jumps: Line Invader

Yeah kung fujas sound like a good fit for you, rockered would be good if your looking for something a little more powder oriented than all mountain oriented. If thats what your looking for a great powder/ all mountain ski would be the bibby pro, moment is an outstanding company with a great product and customer service.

jeez he skied for a seasoncheck out some k2 disorderlys, salomon threat (or suspect, little more life to the ski)anything all-mountail oriented like mid-80s underfoot.

Screw all these options. I'm not a super great skier. I'll either get Kunh Fujas, or line blends.

silencers, you wont be skiing much pow, if any like a few inches, and there isnt pow at central, or west, and for pow at alpy, you usually need a backcountry pass, unless you go up to chair 2 at opening. get silencers there a good beginner ski.

But AALT, you're forgetting it's me. I keep stuff for a long time, so I will probably have those skis for more than 4 years. Just look at my jacket.

OK. How to the Kung Fujas compare to the Prophet 100's? Reviews say the Prophets rip it up everywhere, and aren't too shabby at park.

i wasnt a big fan of the prophet in the park, idk just felt a little too stiff.. but they ripped everywhere on the mountain when i demoed them at stratton

idk i guess if youve just skiied one season, your turns and form or whatever probably arent completely developed (i could be wrong). Rockered skis dont carve the same way as others on groomers and in the park. if youre used to a normal ski on anything but powder then a rocker might throw you off. Kung fujas sound perfect, and so do the blends.

Dude, you should really look into getting the K2 Obsethed. They are early rise rocker, so they have a considerable amount of normal camber. Two of my friends ski them, one guy is HUGE and the other guy is a skinny tall 150 lbs. They both ski them fine, they will float through chop and powder, without sacrificing performance on the groomers and corn snow.

Warning though: They are 105ish at the waist, which is fairly wide for an all mountain ski, but you say you will be skiing powder mostly, so if you're interested in a one ski quiver, with a powder emphasis, the K2 obsethed is pretty sweet.
