I need new park skis, coming from volkl ledge which broke and were too short and soft

I prefer:

full camber

Sidewall

waist width of less than 87mm

radius of 17m-21m

light and durable

medium to stiff flex

sintered base

Supporting companies who give back to freeskiing

Made not China

I am:

5'6" still growing

130lbs

I ski:

Park

Fast groomers

Never butters

I've been looking at:

Fischer night stick

Volkl step or wall

Stanston K-10

Praxis PNR

Atomic Punx

Talk me in or out of armada Pipe Cleaners, my number 1 right now.

I recommend head Frame wall, the show, or Caddy. If you happen to have a budget under $300 go for the surface park blanks which retail for about $270. If you are hooked on the armadas then get them we are not holding you back. the size for you is 164cm I am 5 foot 9 inches and am just growing out of my k2 164cm. If the skis are for next season then go with 170.

Experiment with some different skis. I would recommend on3p Magnus, icelantic nomad 95, vishnu wets etc. In my opinion comp skis aren't to much fun.

Surface Auburn. One of the lightest, poppiest skis I've ridden, and they haven't noodled with time. They hold an edge really well, ridiculous fun to carve groomers and haul ass on. Topsheets aren't too durable but the rest of the ski definitely has been. Second season on my pair, countless rails and no missing edge. Just a bunch of edge cracks. I think the rubber section underfoot really does have an effect.

Pipe cleaners are also another awesome choice, and it seems like people love punx as well. My friend rides the praxis parknride and they seem to be good skis with decent durability, especially from an indie brand more focused on non park skiing. Another indie brand you might consider is high society, their skis are ridiculous durable and they make a stiffer skinny traditional park ski.

Some good points made here with the exception of ski size. OP is still growing (i'd think) so mid 160s to low 170s would work for him. Your ski size for 5'9 however should be in upper 170s for all around/park to low 180s if your charging. However, it all comes out to personal preference at the end of the day.

You and I want almost the same ski, barring the turn radius. I've been interested in the faction 1.0s and the head framewalls. The factions are so expensive though.

I agree with others on here that you should consider the Head Framewalls in the 171cm size. I have the Framewalls and have owned 2 pairs of Volkl Wall skis and have skied the Fisher Nightstick. All of them are great skis and ski similarly as they are all stiff underfoot and softer tip and tail. The Framewall has rocker tip and tail but it is a flat rocker that only comes into effect under weight, so it looks and skis like a full chamber ski but with less tip catching. The other advantage to the Framewall is that you don't get the top sheet chipping like you do with most skis and the 360 degree Framewall stiffens the ski over it's little brother The Caddy.

The BIG reason I'd recommend the Head Framewalls is that ASOgear.com(Corbetts overstock/discontinued division) has that ski in the 2015 model(same as current model just different graphics) in the 171cm size paired with the fantastic Tyrolia Attack 13 binding for $249.99 brand new with free shipping. Hard to beat that deal!

I heard the 164 Atomic Punx are just unmatchable in weight. Like 1400 grams no bindings.

Pretty nice deal! If I do say so myself.

The Salomon nfx is hard to beat in the catogory. Well worth a look if you have not tried them. Or go with the volkl revolt 87. Such a good ski. Or maybe check out the new k2 sight. I would think you would be happy with any of those skis

Liberty Transfers for sure. I rode em this year super durable, light, and poppy. stiff in the tail and a pretty stiff nose.

ar7 or pipe cleaner! i can't think of a good argument against them if youre looking for a top quality, traditional style park ski
