heyi was wondering what ski would be better for me between the salomon czar and the atomic blog??i have had my eye on the salomon czar for quite a while because it seems to be a great ski for what i want it for, rockered at the tip and a very good structural and performance wise ski.but since i have seen and researched the atomic blog i have been a bit stumped at what i should get because they are tip and tail rocker and have the awsome step down side wall.i am looking at the 177cm sized ski for the atomic'sand am looking at the 175cm sized ski for the salomon's.i will be using them for niseko, japan and backcountry stuff.thankscharlie

if you care about riding switch alot then go with the blogs. If you just do it occasionally but want a ski to charge on go with czars. i have no experience with either but judging by specs and design that is pretty basic knowledge. have fun man.

the czar is definitely a stiffer ski. i wouldn't say its a true charging ski, but it leans toward that realm more than the blog, which is a medium flex at best, ski is killer.

if it were me, i'd go blog. salomon has left a bad taste in my mouth recently

I agree. Salomon skis havent been on par with the rest of the industry quality wise in a while. atomic on the other hand, has been puttin out some great skis lately.

How big are you, 99% of people on the Czars will want to go with the 182. Best to go longer with a pow ski for more flotation. Switch pow will be easier on the blog but the Czar will feel longer on hard pack etc because of the non-rockered tail. Also if the Blog has the early taper/reverse sidecut like the Bentchetler they will turn much easier in pow as the widest point of the ski is set in further.

Personally Id go 185 blog if you're bigger than 5'9 and more than 140lbs... with the fairly central mount they will no doubt not feel big at all, if in doubt go longer, thats my 0.02c.....
