as we all know the only aspect of skiing that determines skill and steez is your equipment.

there is a reason dollo is the best in the world. He is just so drip and has such good skis that he is just that ghood. people like wolferman or ahall aren't as good as dollo because they aren't as decked in drippy equipment you feel??

so getting the obvious out of the please reply to the pole with what skis have the best average skiier. for examople if i see someone at my hill with something cool like vishnus i just know they are cracked as fuck. if i see some loser with something like factions or oneps i know they are just a sack of flesh sliding down a hill.

PLEASE VOTE, thanks

If I see a dude over 20 on jet skis I just know he goes mach 10 into every feature and is sick af. Probably going to the bar next after smoking a few cigs too

Jemskis by a mile, not even close. Their team is so underground and unknown no one even knows who they are. They ride Jemskis already which is already super lowkey as they don’t have a website. They post the jemskis parts on a secret YouTube channel that’s just random numbers and letters and only post unlisted videos that you need a link to view. Only sent to skiing elite.

It's hard for brands like k2 and volkl that make such a broad range of skis. For every big mountain sender on the k2 mindbender 120 ti-84 super edition, there are another 100 jerries on used foam core rentals from 2005

Oh, if we are talking out of park then J skis by a mile

Everyone down voting this but I'm basing this off the fact that their floor is low. 90% of the people on them are definitely Type II but that's a lot better than the floor of other companies like K2 who manufacture rental skis for beginners. ON3P is another good shout.

not trying to make fun of anyone here but where tf do you ski where you get this impression?

Colorado, I only ever see people riding Js who are either ripping bumps or doing decent rail tricks, I genuinely have never seen a full blown gaper riding them in either VT or CO

A few years ago I’d say the atomic punx 7, I’ve never seen them on the mountain, only in comps where every other skier had them and there’d be a pile of extras in the corner. And you know they probably started as a racer or mogul skier and have the regular skiing fundamentals down

Specific brand probably Icelantic or J if we’re talking the literal mean average

the two lowest in the poll lmao

I have seen Jerries on ALL of these brands. Saw a dude on DPS pagoda 100 skiing like Dogshit on fresh groomed goodies. Gear does not = good. If you have a good skill set It can deff amplify some stuff.

I'm so good that even if every other skier pizzas when they're supposed to french fry, whatever ski I'm riding has the best average skiers.

Deviation. Because I'm the best skier on the mountain and basically no one else rides them at my local

No ones denying that moment makes some dang good skis and there are some dang good riders on them, but its also one of the most recommended brands on r/skiing and is big enough and known enough that its slipped down into the masses.

To answer the question I’ve never seen someone who sucks ride Praxis or Fatypus. Bonus points if the Fatypus is on Teles

Moments. Big enough they make legit skis but small enough to not be “known”.

It’s one of the most recommended brands on forums. Not the masses. Most shops don’t carry Moments. Most people on the mountain have no clue what they. Two people in Breck my entire trip knew what the skis were. One lift guy knew the deathwish was triple camber. One other guy had wildcat tours. Every other person I spoke to had zero clue about moment.

If I see someone on on3p, I assume they would at least be fun to ski with, if not get me out of my comfort zone or be totally cracked. I run far away from anyone with beer brand topsheets. Run far and fast from those my friends.

What about bindings? If I had to choose I would say pivot 15s or 18s. I think people who ski pin bindings inbounds are always mid skiers tho.

Tele skiers always showing up mf’s. See those bindings. You know what’s up.

Saw a tele dude in his 50s making moguls look easy last season. It was one of the highlights of the year for me.

I would say ON3P skiers are overall the best I see. And I know Blizzard is kinda dad, but I don’t see many people on a Bonafide or Cochise who aren’t good.

tbf like every other skier in Tahoe has had Moments. Which is good, they are ripping skis and they deserve all the money they can get.......but saying nobody knows what they are isnt really fair. Even at my podunk ass hill in South Dakota quite a few people have Moments.

I really dont believe that only two people in Breck knew what moments were.....theyre pretty damn popular down there every time I have swung through Colorado.

The Scheels in Reno even carries them....or at least they used to.

You don’t have to believe it but those are the facts. I was out there 5 days and out of every conversation I had with every person about moment skis only two knew about them. One lift operator and one guy on Wildcat tours. Everyone else had never heard of the brand.

tahoe absolutely they are more popular and well known because they’re in Reno.

the average skier ( general masses) have literally no clue what moment is. If you see someone on moments or they actually know about moments it’s usually a really informed skier. Someone more involved in general. That’s not the masses.

I know why they are popular around Tahoe, I lived in Reno for a nearly a decade.

The average skier (general masses) probably skis 2 or less weekends a year, most likely renting, and if they don't rent they probably walked into a shop and asked the sales guy what skis they should buy and got thrown on a pair of Qst's. The average skier probably doesn't know a brand other than the skis they are currently on, if that. I've talked to plenty of people that said they skied and when asked what they ride, they have no clue what brand they are even on.

It's not the fact that the general masses don't know what Moment is.... it's that they don't know what any brands are. If they cant name K2 or Salomon then obviously they arent going to know what Moment is.

But I am simply telling you that every time I go to Colorado, I see a lot of pairs. Idk why you are acting like you are the only person in Colorado who knows what moment is. It isn't some underground whispered about brand. It's probably up there to be one of the most popular "smaller" brands in the US....just like ON3P or 4frnt. Back in HS (probs around 2013/14) I would say 80% of my friends rode moments in South Dakota. And there are still multiple people at my local here that I see riding them. Which is great! They make damn good sticks.

LOL, man. I've never seen more jerries on a brand of skis as Icelantic. Every Colorado Front Ranger gaper that skis 5-10 days a year with an Epic pass has Icelantics. Ironically, I also see a ton of bad skiers on Black Crows.

Never acted like I was the only person in CO that knows moment. As mentioned talked with a dude riding wildcat tours and the lift operator said to me “triple camber” and pointed at my deathwish’s. I gave my personal experience at Breck. That was all. Every conversation I had on the lifts with other riders or the conversations I had with people at the lodges went the same. They all had no clue about moment. And this wasn’t 2 day skiers. One homie was rocking mindbenders and owns hellbents. He had no clue about moment.

and that’s the typical conversation I have with people at most mountains. Most people don’t know who moment is. I’m not debating if your Dakota mountain has people on them or any other mountain for that matter.

What I am saying is that the average skier and the masses have no clue what moment is. That just remains a fact. Moment is sold in far less shops than most brands on the industry.

hell my local shop (Peter Glenn) which sells pretty much every major brand and some smaller doesn’t sell moment. At any of their locations.

if you walk up to 20 random people on a mountain and ask if they know moment you might get one.

Can't speak to the US but they do not seem popular or well known in Canada. Have not seen many people riding them in BC. Definitely don't think the Canadian masses are aware

uh i dont see jetskis on therye

For the Tahoe area: I ski moments so it can't be Moment (I have zero steeze)

This past weekend I watched some kid with a camelback fall down some moguls off Shirley with some ON3Ps, so it can't be ON3P.

That leaves Praxis as the winner.

If I see anyone in Europe on ON4P or Moment I will automatically assume they know what's up just from being willing to pay the import taxes to get them here...
