What skis did you first ski park on

started skiing in 2019 on a second hand pair of volkl pyras. fell in love with the sport, went to japan and picked up a pair of ARWs from my boss. hit my first rail on the armadas.

Why would you buy yourself skis on christmas. Did your parents just give you cash or something?

On a scale of 1 to 10 how many rails did you hit before the edges were totaled...

only got three edge cracks after about 20 days but i only hit rails maybe 10 times a day because i wasn’t that good at them yet

K2 Press (2011?). The spray paint cans on the bottom were lime green though. I got them used for free and now another homie has them.

I used to think the matte black on gloss black blacked out top sheets were so sick

Yes the black on black knives made me feel so cool. For some reason I had a Mountain Dew decal on my skis, wish I remembered why I put it there

Well, let's just say they didn't have a side cut. Head something or others. Thankfully shortly after being allowed in the park I got a pair of Salomon 1080s, which was not only my first twintips (obviously), but my first skis with any kind of side cut in general.

Already posted here but had to post the image anyways. The Three Phil's killed it on these things.

I started out on some old atomic race skis then my dad bought me some mantras , i really sucked at park. I remeber jumping over the rail and just tapping the end, like a pretty weak disaster, and I was Uber hyped on “sliding” my first rail.

fast forward to today

i still suck at park but now I have cool armadas ar7 the white n black ones no idea what year, cuz that I aquirer from a friend for the low price of $0

Some ugly futurespins from 2014 whoch i delammed underfoot. Then i got the next year model which looked even worse

K2 Escape from 2003 ish. Got them un mounted in plastic at a ski swap for $120. They're basically the same as rental skis. I learned 180s, switch 1s and a bunch of grabs on them.

I'm wondering: anyone else in this thread who was hitting the park in the 99-01 Era also go through a shit ton of skis? I think in 2000 I went through 7 pairs (4 new twin tips and 3 old straight skis while inbetween warranty).

Salomon 1080, rossi pow airs twice, volkl v (I think that's what they were called?). I remember doing a switch 720 in a big air comp on old straight skis because they were the only things that wouldn't explode by just looking at them.

Man there were some garbage skis back in the day.

Hand-me-down Dynastar Trouble Makers from my big bro, was sooo freakin stoked. First pair of freshies for me were Fischer Addicts, my first symmetrical twin, probably learned all my first tricks on those in high school ??
