What skis did you first ski park on

My first park skiing was done on Fischer rc4s, which is a race ski. Sounds stupid but freshman me boiled the tips and attempted to bend them into twin tips.

Slid my first rail and did my first 3 on kids Volkl race tigers

I knew I couldn’t be the only one who started on race skis. I did a quad kink on the shortest race skis ever

here’s my first front 2 on them

Line chronic 2016. Got into skiing late as none of my family does it. I’m very happy abt my progression tho

Line Sick Days. One day during the first season, the Griffons broke on them and I snowboarded for a while until shitty Marker finally got back to me and sent me new bindings like 3 months later. On literally the first day back on the skis, I caught them under a rail and snapped them.

k2 Sights, got them for like 100 bucks on christmas one year. I still use em to this day!

Geez

K2 bad seed was my first twin tip and this is the ski I was on when I started getting more serious with it. Still didn’t get super into park until the past couple years.

Aww what a sweet walk down memory lane.

The year was 2008 and I was 13 years old.

My Dad's credit card rewards points were set to expire, and he could redeem them as magazine subscriptions. My sister and I got totally spoiled with Ski Mag, Snowboarder, Transworld, Powder, Freeskier... next thing you know my sister became Gretchen Bleiler's #1 fan - heck she still is to this day.

We were OKAY at skiing and snowboarding, but we totally decided that year that we were gonna become freestylers like Gretchen.

We counted up all our money from the summer, hyped ourselves up, and went to the annual Ski Rex sale at Colorado Ski and Golf.

When the sales rep came up, we told him we were gonna become freestylers, and he was like totally some kind of weird hater that almost killed our dreams right there.

Whatever, at the time that was a pretty typical experience with ski shops.

Lol so anyways, momma bear asked for a woman, and she loved it, lit up like, "Well we have one pair of women's twin tips in stock." I was like, "I'll take em."

Likely the same for me, circa 1997!

The Orange and Yellow Line Masterminds.

Those skis were literal noodles, I have an old pic that I have to dig up of me pressing the shit out of the noses.

volkl racetigers (race skis) and volkl flairs (directional carving ski) on small jumps. I stayed off boxes/rails until I got On3p Jessie 88 the 17/18 model.

I remember learning 3s and boxes on some atomic beta races, but these Rossi Bandits were my first "twin tip" (slightly turned up tails). Learned 5s and how to ski switch and even won the bbowl park jam on those suckers *claim*

Please tell that picture was taken at a terrain park, and that ur local hill puts cars at features.

I’m not sure but my dad had the adult version - the atomic tweak. Basically this but like 70 something underfoot. maybe that’s it? Or the atomic stomp?

Do you know atomics first actual twin? They where insanely light, but disconinued because of total ski failure

You sent me down a wormhole.

Looks like it was the 02/03 Tweaks (like my dad had)

1000699.jpegAnd 02/03 Stomps

1000700.jpeg

I was just a wee lad at the time. The stomps could be a year after. Hard to find info. But I DO remember they changed the colors of the tweak to blue/red in 03/04 so that makes me think the stomp is same year as the tweak I listed.
