i have been using 159 pe's and fujatives for 3 years but friends/lock ski shop guy told me to get a 164... im 6'2" 180lbs and 164's seem too small for park/all mountain

jsut looking for some imput i was thinking 174+ ?

yeah thats what i thought... i have downhill skis that are 179's which confused me... ive raced in my area for a while but they sized me up differently for those skis...

Whoever told you to get on 164's needs his head read.

Unless of course you have never skied before in which case 169 wouldn't be out of the question.

But yeah - go 179's, far more stable at your height/weight.

ive been skiing for 15 years.. i consider my self good thats what confused me.. then again he was old and clueless to twintips

Plus twintips ski shorter than conventional skis due to the raised tip at the rear, reducing effective contact area.

there really isnt an advantage to small skis for twin tips right?

ive only had twin tips as my second pair of skis for when i do the park/pipe

Shorter skis are arguably more maneuverable, easier to initiate turns and better for spinning due to a lower swingweight, but at the expense of speed, stability and street cred.

yeah i figured same as racing... i was thinking a 174 pe would be decent but finding them onsale is tougher !
